I will add that @declanganley is one of the most compromised spies and selfish bastards I've ever seen. And I'm hugely disappointed in @Nick_Delehanty and @mullallyelaine who are good people and do amazing work helping him via destroying people. I am so disappointed.

Spare a thought for @TrevorImmelman who is not allowed to say positive things about the biggest golf event ever staged in his country - LIV South Africa Quite sad really

I know the TV ratings aren’t what they should be, but I’m convinced LIV Golf has become a far superior product to the PGA Tour. From the crowds, atmosphere, energy and emotion to the TV broadcast and how press conferences are handled; it’s just better.

These trips are hard work. I have no issue with the ministers travelling business class. It is a modest ask for people who will be working long days, far from their families.
Darran Marshall@DarranMarshall

Did Stormont Ministers travel to the Washington in business class? @endamcclafferty asked the dFM about the value for money of sending four Stormont Ministers to the US during a cost of living crisis. The dFM said it was value for money and she attended 15 events in 4 days.

@declanganley A 50% immediate cut in taxes means the government still take 60% tax

If the government doesn’t act on this extortion under the name of taxes on fuel, it may be necessary to organise a peaceful protest and march to Leinster House, if only to persuade them to do what is eminently sensible in the current time.

@OdohertyI64991 I’d go back to 93. Tail end of the recession. Jack Charlton. Such optimism. Generation X was having a ball. Plus a period of discovery as Eastern Europe opened up. It all ended after Saipan for me

I do think, for what we loosely call Gen X anyway, the period roughly between Euro 96 and 9/11 was the best of our lives. Earning decent money, not burdened by a big mortgage and kids, travel was easy, credit was cheap.
Shambo of Luxembourg@BradfemlyWalsh

It's incredible that the most quintessential British Gen X TV show (This Life) and the most quintessential British Gen X piece of music were released on the same day: 18/03/96. The whole of 1996 absolutely did have a palpable sense of an apex, a culmination, a crescendo for us.

All these idiots like the Social Democrats and People Against Profit do realise how diplomacy works, don't they? The Irish have once a year access to the White House other people envy. The real business is done under the radar. Blow it once and it's never coming back.

@checkingoutie @ExtremeFootbal4 Building something? He tried to retire top quality players that had plenty to give Irish football. He played a style of football that none of the players had any experience of His tactics were completely unsuited for international football He was completely out of his depth

The Irish Times gives space to an irrelevant Maria Steen to whine about what she considers to be "Christianity" and presumes to know what Patrick thought... Maria Steen: St Patrick’s day has become a celebration of everything other than Christianity irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

@MichaelPTKelly She got the most votes of any Irish president in history I didn’t vote for her, nor do I share any of her views but by God she has mandate and denial of such is anti democratic

Catherine Connolly won a presidential election boycotted by most of our people, while many who reluctantly participate explicitly rejected her candidacy - her trite St Patrick’s Day tidings are as hollow as her mandate.
