So basically Durant wants to play and has spent the last five days doing everything possible to do so, but the Rockets are holding him out. So much for the "he quit on the team" narrative
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

Houston's Kevin Durant is expected to miss Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell ESPN. Durant has a bone bruise in his sprained ankle, which would sideline him 2 to 3 weeks in season. He's had around-the-clock treatment to play but has not been cleared by doctors.

Those saying Kevin Durant “quit on his team in the middle of the playoffs” are clueless. KD played in 78 of 82 games this season… at 37-years-old. He suffered an unlucky knee injury in practice and missed Game 1. He played through injury, and suffered ANOTHER unlucky injury to his ankle in Game 2, which he played through. This injury usually sidelines players 2+ weeks… KD is going through around-the-clock treatment. That’s why he’s not on the bench. The Rockets aren’t as good without KD. That’s why they’re down 3-0. Don’t buy into online narratives. KD just had bad luck, and is still the main reason the Rockets were a top 5 seed this season in the first place.

Kevin Durant rushed back from a “calf” strain and tore his achilles. I will never question his physical toughness or how bad he wants to play. If he’s out, ima take his word for it that he can’t play.

The last time Ben Simmons looked capable of scoring 10 points in an NBA game was when he played with KD Yuta, Ed Sumner played the best hoop of their careers playing next to KD. KD has his flaws but don't ever believe surface-level platitudes like this
Kevin O'Connor@KevinOConnor

Kevin Durant was right about what he said on that burner. The Rockets have a deeply flawed roster. But what was absent in those leaked DMs was any commentary about himself. We see the disparity in this series. LeBron James has always made his teammates better. Durant never has.

CJ McCollum on Jonathan Kuminga: “He has championship DNA coming from the Warriors. The athleticism is off the charts. He’s got a mid-range. He knows how to post up, screen, and defensively, he can guard 1-5. He was in a not so great situation and now he's found a happy home.”

Kevin Durant since leaving Golden state has been forced to carry THREE handicap teams. It was really the ultimate sacrifice going there.

I didn’t think Durant would catch that much heat last night from anyone watching the game but I was mistaken The guy came back from a knee injury limiting movement and was forced to create the entire offense for his team every possession Turnovers are inevitable
Jackson Gatlin@JTGatlin

Crazy how Kevin Durant spends every single possession getting blitzed by double-teams, but LeBron James gets to milk the clock and drive one-on-one with no help defense whatsoever.

It’s really annoying how so many people who cover the Denver Nuggets think basketball is some moral duel, good vs. evil, and that the squad they root for is more righteous. And yes, there is a coded / dog-whistle element to it.

No PG to make these easier for KD. Lakers got bron as their PG so nothing changed for him. He makes thing easier for everybody else. Now how Lakers are guarding KD they living with whatever else anybody other than KD does miss or make
🏁 Jamal Crawford@JCrossover

The difference right now about the two stars operating area.. Kd is at the top of the floor where it’s easier to get doubled, where five sets of eyes are watching you, and they’re forcing him to pass.. Lebron is in the mid post area, so if you double him from there, it’s a layup for a teammate or wide open 3.. #Lakers/ Rockets
