Rocky Balboa was full of shit, my whole life is a lie. 🥊 "postexercise muscle protein synthesis rates do not differ after ingestion of 5 raw compared with 5 boiled eggs in healthy young men." pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36774104/

A reminder of the importance of fat-free mass (FFM💪) for resting metabolic rate (RMR) Each kg of FFM associated with 20 kcal/d⬆️RMR FM not associated with ⬆️RMR Data: doi.org/10.1123/ijsnem… Study led by @O_Chrzanowski RMR measured in duplicate ✅✅ Body composition by DXA

@bearduckk @JornTrommelen Correct! Keep in mind that its proof of principle to see whether (very) hot temperature after exercise increases post-ex mps. Its not saying that people should use this temperature. Besides one leg ≠ whole body. So good point, because those are important take aways!

Seen this study title a few times on timeline - did anybody else immediately think of 'quarks' in the physics sense (I.e what protons & neutrons are made from) - and think whats this got to do with nutrition? 🤣🤦
Cas Fuchs, PhD@27CJ

Our newest: Acute quark ingestion increases muscle protein synthesis rates at rest with a further increase following exercise in young and older adult males in a parallel-group intervention trial. sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Led by @wesleyhermans
