We also need to be honest with Hugo Broos. I suspect he can be a bit emotional when it comes to certain players because I still cannot understand how you watch Lorch perform on one of the biggest stages in club football, the FIFA Club World Cup, against some of the best teams in the world, and then leave him out of the squad. But football should be about form and impact. Lorch showed that he can compete at the highest level, and I genuinely believe Hugo got this one wrong. We praise Broos when he gets things right, and rightly so. He has done a fantastic job with Bafana. But that doesn’t mean he should be beyond criticism. Perhaps instead of selecting so many defensive options, there was room for a player like Lorch who can unlock a game, create something out of nothing, and give us a different attacking dimension. Just my opinion. 🇿🇦⚽
