The first Dead Rising’s ending also feels bleakly funny but real because although Frank does indeed expose the government, all they do is take partial responsibility and the rest of the world just moves on shortly after. Santa Cabeza and its people never truly get justice.

The other big want I have for whatever Dead Rising has in store next is for the thematic bite present in the first two to return in contrast to how apolitical 3 and 4 are. Using zombies as a metaphor for exploitation within 1 and 2 are what make their narratives stand out.
