Yes, Satoshi was right in 2010. He correctly noted that if quantum computers threaten ECDSA gradually, Bitcoin can upgrade to stronger signature algorithms. Users would then migrate funds by spending old UTXOs to new outputs using the upgraded signatures. This proactive transition works with advance warning, just like SegWit and Taproot upgrades. Quantum computers still aren't close to breaking Bitcoin today, so the plan remains solid.
