I don't know what can be done about this type of discourse. There's always some reason adaptations turn out the way they do, but we tie it to the concept of "reputation." The real answer is to be happy with manga as it is but that's not happening.

Twin Star Exorcists is definitely one of the series that most deserves a remake, i will not criticize the original anime but just the fact that in 50 eps it didn't even adapt 20 of the 134 chapters is insane, the series never got the popularity it deserved, specially here 👍

They've got like maybe, one more project in them where they can realistically say Toriyama stamped it. It felt weird hearing "he's been working on XV3 for 6 years" and we just had to take their word for it.

I don't even think it's necessarily about popularity, but genre. The most popular shoujo tend to be grounded stories, so they get J-drama adaptations, but those aren't on Western fans' radar.
