My father’s marriage is just like the first part. - 10 years +- things seemed ok and Everything below never showed up or maybe once in a blue moon. - 20 years In, this position of MAD is now the dominating mindset in their marriage. Each of them take actions knowing that the other can’t or won’t call them out. They hide things from each other. They ask other family members to not tell the other about X, Y or Z. - 30 years in, they now live in separate houses 500 miles apart. They rarely talk, my siblings (their kids) are either in serious legal or mental health troubles. They still pretend like they’re are happy but imagine the chokehold on you when comfort with money becomes more important your happiness and health. Sivori, I absolutely understand and respect this ideology and its power. It seems and feels like it works well. Like I said 10+ years, made them feel invincible and it seemed that way to the observer. It works, Until it doesn’t. Once it doesn’t, it’s possibly too far gone to shift gears on the relationship framework. I would urge you to consider a more beautiful analogy over a horrific one.
