I have kids. I work in AI every day. And honestly? I have no idea what their careers will look like in 15 years. But I know what will carry them through. First, and this might sound unromantic: make money and save it for them. We can debate educational philosophy all day, but the world is changing so fast that financial security might be the most practical gift we can give. Buy some gold bars. Seriously. Second, nurture their imagination. AI rewards people with initiative and wild ideas. The kid who daydreams, who asks weird questions, who wants to try ten things at once? That kid will thrive. AI can execute. AI can be disciplined. What AI can't do is dream up something nobody's thought of before. Third, build resilience. There are no more iron rice bowls (guaranteed lifetime jobs). Any stable, predictable job is exactly the kind of job AI will learn to replace. Our kids will likely switch directions many times in their lives. Learn something new, get replaced, pivot, repeat. It's more like being a hunter than a farmer. Schools don't teach this. Schools teach you to follow a linear path: high school, college, grad school, stable job. That linear path is becoming the most dangerous one. Last, invest in their ability to connect with other humans. Not networking. Not schmoozing. Real emotional connection. Building trust, offering support, making people feel seen. As AI handles more of the rational, analytical work, the human ability to genuinely relate to other humans becomes more rare and more valuable. I don't have all the answers. But I know that imagination, resilience, and genuine human warmth aren't going out of style anytime soon. #AI #Parenting #Education #FutureOfWork

This is interesting… and honestly, I’m seeing something similar in hiring. The execution part of design is getting easier. Screens, flows, prototypes, AI is speeding all of this up. So naturally, teams need fewer people just for execution. At the same time, PM roles are growing because someone still needs to decide: → what to build → why it matters → what to prioritise But I don’t think this means design is “declining”. It’s shifting. The value of a designer is moving away from “how well you make screens” to “how well you think, decide, and influence”. Designers who stay only in execution might feel this pressure. But designers who understand product, systems, constraints, and user behaviour are becoming even more valuable. In a way, design is becoming less about tools and more about thinking. Curious how others are seeing this shift in their teams or hiring. #productdesign #uxdesign #designjobs #designcommunity

I don’t know exactly what’s going on here, but it does feel AI-related. Unlike PM and eng, which started growing in 2024 (two years post-ChatGPT), design didn’t. If I had to venture a theory, I’d say that because AI is allowing engineers to move so quickly, there’s less opportunity—and less desire—to involve the traditional design process. That said, you’d think design would become a differentiator as more products compete for attention. Something to think about for your company! We’ll keep watching this trend and AI’s impact on org design more generally. One interesting observation we made when we went a level deeper: the ratio of demand for PMs vs. designers has flipped. In mid-2023, we went from more open designer roles to more open PM roles. And ever since, PM demand has been pulling away (currently 1.27x). This will be another trend to monitor, in terms of how AI is reshaping org design.

You know, I absolutely love Design. I do not care about AI a single bit. It could go away tomorrow and I wouldn’t care. Of course, I use it, same as many other tools. But the secret is to never fall in love with your design tools more than the act of designing. They come and go. I care about AI as much as I care about Photoshop. Zero. I simply just love to Design and I’ll do it in one form or another for the rest of my life.

🥱 Most design events are sit-and-listen, and we’re bored of that. ⚡ At Design Tank, we do-and-show. We move from abstract advice to live action. We remove the fluff from networking events. 🤔 How do we do it? Exceptional designers present their portfolios live in front of elite design leaders, and instead of abstract feedback, they receive real-time, raw, and actionable insights. 👉 Instead of hearing 'Think user-first,' you see the logic in action. 👉 Instead of hearing 'Use progressive disclosure,' you see exactly how to deconstruct the UX. 👉 Instead of hearing 'Simplify the UI,' you see exactly which elements to kill and why. We’ve designed the event to enable meaningful connection, not forced networking. Here’s how 👇 🎫Smart badges: Designed to spark better conversations - your smart badge will have your name, role, and company, plus whether you’re hiring, and a personalised conversation starter based on your actual interests. 🎤 Spotlight introductions: Hiring managers and senior designers introduce themselves on the mic, so you know exactly who to approach. 🫶 Private WhatsApp community: For lasting connection long after the event is over. We truly believe that enabling the right connection at the right time uplifts the entire design ecosystem and creates a far-reaching impact. We’re building toward a full-scale Design Hiring Fair - a place that gives you every tool you need to move your career forward. 💎 Interested in joining the club? We keep it close-knit and high quality so everyone gets value from the conversation, connection, and community. And that is why we are handpicking 60 members only. When and where? 📍 SpotDraft Office, HSR Layout, Bengaluru 📅 28th February 2026 | 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM 💡 Know a founder, hiring manager, or recruiter looking for designers?
