Not one politician cares about changing the law. Why are we not informing our citizens of new laws to be voted on with technologies such as our wireless emergency alerts, ex amber, silver alerts, etc. Politicians want citizens ignorant of the rights they're stripping away.
Tom McClintock@RepMcClintock

What I saw was an ICE vehicle attempting to leave an area that was in a near riot condition, a civilian vehicle then suddenly moved in front of it to block its departure. I then saw an ICE officer approach that vehicle and issue a lawful order to the driver to get out of the car. Instead of complying with that order, the driver backed up, pointed the car in the direction of another officer, and then shifted into drive, stepping on the gas while an officer had his hand on the door then accelerated in the direction of the other ICE officer at the moment he fired into the vehicle. That’s what the video shows, and we all have eyes and we all can see it. There are a lot of questions that it raises, starting with the perspective of the officer who fired at this approaching vehicle. Was the car indeed pointed directly at him when he fired? It certainly appeared that way to me from the video we’ve seen. I assume the officer was wearing a body camera and we’ll get a better idea of his perspective in the course of the investigation. There’s the question of why the driver attempted to block the ICE vehicle as it was leaving, why the driver felt motivated to obstruct clearly uniformed federal law enforcement officers in the performance of their duties, why she willfully refused to comply with a lawful order by those officers, and why she pointed her vehicle toward another officer while hitting the gas. I suspect that a great deal of motivation was exactly from the kind of incendiary rhetoric we hear everyday from our radical democratic colleagues. It is a direct attack on the rule of law. Our ICE officers are enforcing federal law as the Congress wrote it. The Democrats here don’t like that law, they object to its enforcement, and they are actively encouraging citizens to obstruct its enforcement. In a nation of laws, the answer is not to obstruct the law, but to change it. We’re sitting in the very institution that writes these laws. If they believe the laws that enforce our nations sovereignty are wrong? Then they should make the case to change them. And Ms. Ross, I point out that when the Democrats had the majority and our nation was suffering through the worst illegal mass migration in its history, the immigration subcommittee under Democratic control held not a single hearing on that crisis as it unfolded, not one. I suspect their encouragement of disobedience to the law had a large role to play in the mind of the driver and in the minds of the increasingly violent mobs that our colleagues are deliberately inciting. As Lincoln said to their predecessors, “There is no grievance is a fit object for redress by mob law.” How sad the same words need to be repeated here. Before the House Judiciary Committee that’s supposed to be dedicated to the rule of law.

@SpookyGhost81 @riotgames Cheating in a video game is enough to warrant kernel level access to your computer. Its a video game youre a nobody youre not going to be the next faker.

@304FoundNot @riotgames and i would like you to articulate the risk that you think exists in a kernel level spyware that doesn't exist with a regular process "run as admin" like steam service (VAC) is. the privacy implications are identical. VAC has full access to every process on your system.

@SpookyGhost81 @riotgames prevent cheaters is not a justification to allow kernel level anti cheats. Theres many developers that do not use kernel level. For example vac doesnt or any server side mmo. You dont understand the risk of giving a third party ring 0 access to your computer that just retarted

@304FoundNot @riotgames there is a very good and obvious reason for anticheats to have kernel access: preventing cheating. you simply can't do that without kernel level access. as you can see its damn near impossible even WITH kernel access. if you don't like it, go play a game filled with cheaters

@riotgames Theres should be no reason any third party company, especially a chinese company ( tencent owns riot) should have kernel level access to anybodies computer. In so glad i stopped playing that crash game years ago and i was a big player and soender since season 2 of league.

Well, that escalated quickly. There’s been a wave of claims by cheaters about Vanguard “bricking” their PCs, so let’s clear that up: Vanguard does not damage hardware or disable your devices. The photo we posted is a picture of cheat hardware devices that are sold explicitly for cheating in VALORANT (not normal PCs or PC components). Through our latest updates, Vanguard now makes those devices worthless for VAL, but does not in any way brick PCs or PC components or PC software. Our latest update enforces standard platform security features, like the Input-Output Memory Management Unit (IOMMU), on accounts identified as using Direct Memory Access (DMA) cheating devices. These protections are already part of modern systems and when enabled, they block DMA cheat devices (such as those shown in the photo) from accessing memory in downstream applications, like our games. If a cheat setup continues attempting to cheat after those protections are enabled, the system may generate hardware faults or instability. This is expected behavior under IOMMU when attempts are made to read protected memory. Disabling IOMMU allows the cheat device to function again, but IOMMU will still be required to play our games. This means the cheat device won’t work with our games, but your PC isn’t “bricked.” We would not, and cannot, impact your PC’s functionality in any other fashion. This functionality only applies to systems attempting to use DMA cheat devices, and players who are not using DMA-based cheat setups are not affected. We’ll keep investing in anti-cheat to protect competitive integrity, and we’ll keep being as transparent as possible about how those systems work.
