I can't believe it. Today I played 16 games on EU servers, mostly on Frankfurt, and I'm shocked. Out of 16 matches, 10 had cheaters, and I didn't get any of my RR back. Is cheating free now? Is it that easy to get cheats? I honestly don't know. Three years ago, when I used to play this game, I never had problems like this. This is unbelievable.

Yeah, Nick is just a different type of engineer who's in his own league. The MAA bypass probably wouldn't have been found by a cheater, especially in the day of LLMs where everyone's brain is fried.
This really is a positive for the industry rather than a net negative, whether the Activision team is capable or not to find that is solely depending on the product scope you have to remember that Microsoft is their own organization and Activision is another @AntiCheatPD

To be fair, it seems like this is something Nick privately found & disclosed to Microsoft. So, Ricochet reverse engineering cheat providers wouldn't have uncovered this because it wasn't ever abused. Also, I'm pretty sure they do reverse & detect cheats quite a lot now because pretty much every COD external/internal is detected now
But if what you mean is that Ricochet should have people red teaming MAA bypasses like what Nick did, I agree, it's how they'd catch things before any abuse occured. Finding individuals qualified for that takes time though. There aren't many Nick Petersons in the world

Up until just recently, some metrics of Microsoft Azure Attestation were completely vulnerable to spoofing in some circumstances, and would accept attacker controlled measurements. SecureBoot in this case, spoofed as ON from a malicious bootkit. see CVE-2026-45642

People who use trackers are hurting themselves; it really doesn’t matter what your teammates or ops stat lines look like, just play the game. This in particular though is against riot ToS I believe 👍 @ItsGamerDoc

Nah, man, these guys are babies they're not worth our time. A lot of these cheaters are mad not because we detect them, but because we cut off their source of income by completely breaking the cheat.
These cheats are like ultra-detected, but so long it works, you can make a lot of money from it because people on TikTok/Youtube that view the content are gullible at times and think, "this will make me undetected, etc."

Wait that's wild. Honestly if cheaters are out here actively spreading misinformation about Valorant & Vanguard to drum up panic, that's its own problem. I feel like Riot should consider going the legal route on stuff like this, or against the cheat sellers themselves? Feels like making an example of one or two would put some real fear into these cheaters and the people farming engagement by jumping on the hate train.

It's been a rough few weeks for Riot with the Vanguard drama and everything, but you have to give it to them, they've been working really hard to crack down on cheaters. The downside is that sometimes regular, legitimate users get caught in the crossfire, and in cases like this some end up having to change their setup. But honestly you can't really blame them, cheating is a massive problem these days.
Seeing them go this hard actually makes me wonder just how many cheaters are really in Valorant. It has to be a LOT, because they're cracking down this aggressively and there are more and more restrictions and requirements just to launch the game. The tradeoff is people on older PCs or laptops might not be able to play anymore unless they upgrade. At least it's nice to see devs actively grinding to bring cheaters down instead of going completely silent like some other games.

VALORANT and Vanguard still support Windows 10. Only a small fraction of players may encounter these additional requirements because they triggered additional integrity checks based on specific flags or reports related to competitive fairness. In those situations, we may require security features available in certain Windows 11 builds to help us better verify the game environment.
