@KISSman @STaylorOfficial Yep, as I remember it, "hair metal" was originally the late-era bands whose hair/look was higher priority than their derivative/copy-cat music. I think the term morphed over time to include most of 1980s (including the OG legends).

@STaylorOfficial I don't have a problem with it, but I think for some, they remember it as a slur. As we moved into the grunge years, the worst thing your favorite bands could be called is "hair metal". It implied that the music & the bands lacked substance and didn't deserve respect.

This might be unpopular, but as a journalist and someone who is a MASSIVE fan of the genre/era, I'm genuinely confused as to why the term "hair metal" offends so many folks. To me, it's just another way to categorize a sub-genre. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dear friends moved to UK for a year. I keep frequenting our local watering hole, and just realized I’m like a cat sleeping on its owner’s sweater.

Today was my first swim in 5 years (!). Huge first step towards fitness & mental health. New swimsuit and goggles worked out ok. (I really don't like adapting to new swim gear, esp. goggles.)

There isn't a sport in the world like it. Curling is different. Curlers are different. Team Tirinzoni shows up to Team Homan's postgame celebration wearing Homan gear... after they lost to Team Homan in the final. I love curling.
