Why on earth hasn't the CTA changed the type of rail car to something remotely modern that connects cars without doors and a gap between? London has some narrow cars but you can walk from stem to sternum with a suitcase in most.

Chicago Public Schools has an enrollment crisis because the city is losing young families due to an extreme scarcity of family-friendly housing maybe we should be developing valuable urban land as a dense, family-friendly NEIGHBORHOOD rather than drive-to box stores and parking lots.
