@Jeremy_Peeples @pwoloss MECW's whole story is hilarious and I wish a prominent wrestling youtuber would do a deep-dive on them. XWF seemed to suffer for WWE signing a bunch of their top guys before they could negotiate a TV deal. MLW's production was very indy-ish even with a good product/roster.

It's amazing in hindsight. People expected Raw ratings to go way up and they actually dropped significantly over a 7-week period, which caused a lot of panic. About 2.6 million fans just stopped watching forever & never came back because there was no longer anything for them.

@pwoloss The post-WCW glut of companies was fascinating because you had MECW, WWA, the XWF, MLW, and TNA all vying for those lapsed fans INSTANTLY and only TNA stuck around
