"The op basically cost $300 million because they had to abandon the two AFSOC C-130s and the four MH-6 Little Birds. Then the U.S. Air Force had to use multiple bombs to blow up all the aircraft they abandoned at that airstrip. And the Iranians shot down 2 MQ-9s Reaper drones. "Luckily the U.S. suffered no casualties and we had to use multiple bombs and missiles to blow up IRGC vehicles that tried to drive up the mountain and also those that tried to drive to the airstrip." 2/2

BREAKING: Details of special forces rescue operation to save American Pilot deep into Iranian territory: -Downed airmen after being shot down lands near Talkhuncheh and immediately actives emergency GPS, proceeds to hike 24 hours 5miles up a 2000 metre mountain to evade capture where he remains hidden for 12 hours. -US special forces locate him and realise Iranian convoys are closing in and begin to engage said convoys with large AirPower, meanwhile US special forces MH-6 helicopters and C-130s are disputed, and land 10 km south east of him to build a makeshift airfield. -Soon after this several MH-6s successfully fly to the top of the mountain and pick him up under small arms fire, and reach the makeshift airfield. Classically two C-130js meant to evacuate Delta and injured airmen get stuck in the mud. -US airforce begins massive suppression campaign on nearby Iranian units, whilst special forces team hunker down for three hours eventually being saved by three AFSOC Dash 8 aircraft meanwhile blowing up remaining C-13Ojs and MH6s aircraft to avoid capture. Incredible.

Spotted flying at low level over western Iran this morning; a C-295W from the USAF’s 427th Special Operations Squadron, a clandestine unit that reportedly specializes in infiltration and exfiltration into enemy territory.

“Never leave them behind” is why @realDonaldTrump has my vote. If you’re stuck in a hostile country you know he’ll send the entire armed forces to get you out🫡🇺🇸🇺🇸 Now think about the Americans that @BarackObama and @HillaryClinton left behind to die in Benghazi under fire for hours with zero support. You think they’d send anybody to come get you?? F them both🖕🖕

The second pilot has been recovered after a successful search and rescue operation, deep within enemy territory, without suffering any casualties. Guaranteed there will be a movie made about this operation one day. The US MIL are showcasing their battlefield dominance.

One thing that is admirable, regardless of your personal opinions, is the "no man left behind" motto in the US military: They will move heaven and earth to find and rescue someone stuck behind enemy lines.

To recap, from the standpoint of local time: Shot down early on Good Friday. Rescued Easter Sunday morning. If it were a movie plot, we'd roll our eyes at it for being too on the nose but here we are in real life...

Fox News can confirm that the 2nd crew member of the downed F15E fighter jet has been rescued and he and the members of the rescue team that extracted him from behind enemy lines in Iran are all safely out of Iran. That according to two senior US officials and multiple well placed sources in the region. The Weapons Systems Officer ejected along with the pilot when their F15E Strike Eagle they were flying was struck Thursday night (early Friday local time) in southwest Iran.  The WSO used the SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) training to evade capture, hiding on an elevated ridge after hiking away from the wreckage and putting out an emergency beacon.) US Special Operations rescue forces to include PJs (United States Air Force Pararescuemen (PJs) and many layers of elite rescue forces took part in the complex, layered mission to both find the crew member and also keep the Iranian forces who were hunting the American weapons system operator at bay. There are videos that have appeared from local eyewitnesses that show what appear to have been  injured and dead Iranian members of the IRGC and Basij who were looking for the downed American crew member. Fox has learned there was fighting on the ground but no Americans killed during the operation. “It was a very complex operation to retrieve the downed service member,” a well placed source briefed on the operation told me. Many different branches of the US military were involved in the rescue. Fox News can confirm the A10 Warthog that crashed Friday was involved in providing cover for the rescue teams searching for the pilot. That A10 crashed in Kuwait (first reported by ABC Friday) but the A10 pilot managed to eject safely and was rescued. There was destruction of aircraft which have sensitive equipment on board, I am told, all part of this complex CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue) mission. The F15E was pretty much destroyed on impact. Two rescue helicopters were hit by enemy fire on  Friday and crew members onboard were injured by enemy fire but managed to make it out of Iran. There were a lot of elements to this rescue, I am told.

As a former Marine embassy guard who served during the era of the Benghazi discourse, it is remarkable to me how little discussion there is that the U.S. embassy in Saudi Arabia got hit by a missile and had multiple floors (including the CIA station) destroyed & lit on fire.
