"(Saying) you have to claim Jesus as your Lord and Savior or you won't get to heaven makes no sense." Rev. Anna Flowers of the United Church in Walpole argues that "I am the way, the truth and the life" is NOT literal, & that there are many valid religions and ways to Jesus.

As a Nebraskan, I knew that “we” were this way… so glad to see that the “we” includes the whole USA, not just the Cornhusker state. “We” are still one nation under God!

When the largest wildfire in Nebraska history tore through Mike and Kayla Wintz’s Sandhills ranch, it wiped out the grass and hay their cattle depend on. Their livelihood was gone — until strangers from across the country stepped in. @SteveHartmanCBS is On the Road.

Hearing the Voice of God: The Blindfolded Walk That Changed Everything I’ve never heard the voice of God explained like this. One day I took my daughter to camp. They took all the dads and daughters deep into the woods for a powerful exercise. The daughters were blindfolded, and the dads were told: ‘You’re going to guide your daughter through the woods.’ Before the walk began, they gave us three simple instructions to repeat over and over to our daughters: 1. I will never leave you. 2. You can ask me anything. 3. Only listen for the sound of my voice. At first, it was easy. I had my hand on her shoulder. We walked and talked together. Then the camp counselor gave a silent signal — I had to remove my hand. Later, another signal came: I could no longer speak unless she asked me something. We started to get off track. A counselor tried to help and walked her straight into a ditch. Blindfolded, standing in front of a tree, she was lost for a couple of minutes. Then I heard four words that broke me: ‘Dad… are you there?’ I stood there in the woods, tears in my eyes, and answered, ‘Yeah, I’m here.’ That moment shaped everything for me. Those three instructions from a simple camp game are the same three things God tells us: He will never leave you. You can ask Him anything. And you should only listen to the sound of His voice. In the noise of life, when you feel lost or blindfolded by circumstances, remember: Stop. Ask. And listen only for Him. He’s right there.” This heartfelt story beautifully illustrates trusting God’s guidance, especially when we can’t see the path ahead.

Does the logo have to fit into a circle? Curious if you could not do something in a square or diamond shape and for some other classic Christian imagery into the design… cross in the center, with the 4 corners including symbols like a dove (Spirit), water (baptism), flame (Pentecost), Bible (word of God) or pulpit, maybe a steeple… or even more traditional the PX (chi-rho), fish (ichtys)

Which logo design is your favorite from these 4 options that I designed? I am working on a logo + brand identity for a church that wants the main logo mark to have a prominent central cross with a traditional yet modern vibe. Thanks in advance for your vote!

@JoshuaBarzon While Inlove the Jerusalem cross, it’s hard to discern where this church is going with that as its only symbol (I would have added other elements)… I vote for #4… love the combo of Bible & pulpit!!

It's a whole new month. Just like that. Time keeps passing, day after day, there's nothing you can do about it. Time doesn't care what you accomplished (or didn't accomplish) yesterday, it just keeps moving. Soon enough it will be a whole new year, then a new decade, and if you're not already, before you know it, you'll be old. The Bible says that God numbers our days. Your time in this mortal life is finite, and it is coming to an end. What will you do with it? What have you done with it? The Bible talks about giving our "first fruits" to God - that is - giving him our best. If time is our most finite resource, it may be one of the most precious things we can give to God. Are you giving God time? Are you giving him your best time? Or the leftovers. The dregs. The margin. You feel something, and I know because I feel it too: the nagging pull to use your time the way you want to. It's YOUR time. You KNOW there's not that much. You're tired. So much of it is spent doing things you don't want to do. Sure you could read the Bible NOW, but wouldn't NOW be a great time to watch some reels instead? Wouldn't it be nice to just rest? Can't I read the Bible later? Can't I pray later? Can't I serve God later, when I'm ready? And so it goes. The appropriate use of your time requires intentionality. If you're not intentional, don't expect your time to get used the way it ought. Expect to be blown in the wind, going this way and that based on whims, and temporary needs, and circumstances outside of your control. You may not be responsible for everything that happens around you, but you are responsible for how you decide to use your time. Use it wisely. Do you understand what time it is?
