@steelcityundrgr I'll let you know -- likely from the area of the Clemente Bridge! Hahaha

While the concept is totally cool, where on Earth are you going to fit these people? You're going to have folks lined up back to the Clemente bridge but hey, "we're at the NFL Draft!" 🫤

Pittsburgh Public Schools will be closed for three days and will switch to remote learning because of the NFL Draft. With a large number of visitors expected, the goal is to keep students learning safely and effectively. The draft is expected to draw 500,000 to 700,000 visitors, according to regional officials. publicsource.org/pittsburgh-pub…

Can McCarthy construct success with Pittsburgh Steelers WRs?

“Would you give up a 2nd-round pick for Mac Jones?” 🤔
On SiriusXM NFL Radio, Matt Simms says… he’d consider it for the Steelers.
Even more:
➡️ 3rd-round pick? Still considering
➡️ 4th-round pick? Done deal
“I do think Mac Jones has proven he’s an NFL-caliber starter.”
Yes… this was a real conversation. All based on the idea the Steelers “don’t have a QB.”
But seriously… Where do people come up with this stuff?
We’d ask Steelers Nation — but let’s be honest: Mac Jones isn’t worth that kind of draft capital.

Oof on those top 4 NFL teams. The Dolphins are drowning.

@steelcityundrgr I'll put it this way: An QB (let's use Tom Brady) is wasted without an elevated or elite offensive roster around him. Teams that surround QBs with talent are statistically more successful. QBs who have a lack of talent around them can't move the ball downfield effectively.

@steelcityundrgr A team that needs a WR and LG potentially another LB and LT but yes they are going sign a RB lol
Where do people get this shit

“Steelers are favorites to trade for De’Von Achane”
Stop it. No they’re not. ⚠️
Yes, Polymarket currently shows:
⚠️ ~50% chance Achane is traded
⚠️ Steelers listed among “favorites”
But that’s a prediction market based on user bets — not insider reporting.
Now let’s use actual football logic:
Steelers already:
✔ Extended Jaylen Warren
✔ Signed Rico Dowdle
✔ Developing Kaleb Johnson
And we’re supposed to believe they’d give up a 1st-round pick for another RB?
Nonsense.
There’s no roster need.
There’s no financial logic.
There’s no draft value justification.
This is manufactured hype — not a real scenario.

@JWIGGY301 @steelcityundrgr Are you basing that on his rookie season and muffed return alone? If so, look at his overall body of work. The kid has skills that were not allowed to develop at the NFL level. Hard to improve with no snaps and an offense that underperformed overall.
English

@steelcityundrgr Kaleb Johnson will be on the practice squad or gone. This move wouldn't surprise me one bit
English

@steelcityundrgr Polymarket is a ridiculous way to predict actual outcome for any NFL team. It is a model based on emotions, not facts - definitely not real analysis. It's a dopamine hit that caters to an "I'm right," mentality that aims to satisfy gambling habit. No GM is going by Polymarket.

The Steelers have built a reputation for drafting well — but what really sets them apart is what they do beyond the first round.
Time and time again, Pittsburgh has found players in the second round who produce like first-round picks. Whether it’s due to other teams overthinking the board or prospects simply falling into the right situation, the Steelers have consistently taken advantage.
It speaks to a bigger philosophy. This is a team that doesn’t panic on draft day. They don’t chase headlines or reach to fill immediate needs. Instead, they trust their evaluations, stick to their board, and let value come to them.
And when it does, they capitalize.
Finding that kind of talent on Day 2 isn’t just a bonus — it’s a major reason why the Steelers have been able to stay competitive year after year. Hitting on second-round picks allows them to build depth, develop starters, and maintain stability without always relying on top-15 selections.
It’s not just about drafting well — it’s about drafting smart.
And more often than not, the Steelers prove you don’t need a first-round pick to land first-round talent.

The later you wait to draft a QB, the worse your odds get.
Sourcing Pro Football Focus draft studies and historical outcomes since 2016:
📉 ~8% of QBs taken after Round 2 become quality starters
📉 ~5% after Round 3
Everyone wants to “find a steal.” And yes — there are exceptions like Dak Prescott and Brock Purdy.
But history is clear: after Round 2, roughly 80–85% of QBs never become meaningful starters.
Building your strategy around outliers isn’t strategy — it’s a gamble.
This applies to every late-round QB — past, present, and in this year’s class.

TWIMC;
Felt I owed some kind of explanation to friends and fans of my books regarding why I’ve gone absent for so many months.
In a word—cancer.
After 8 weeks of chemo and radiation and many more of healing, by God’s grace, I may have beat it.
I’m at last back to work with my Army sniper tribe and as of today, returned to writing; with several projects in varying stages of completion or commencing.
My wife has truly been incredible, and God has already restored me greatly.
What remains to my restoration, my brothers are providing by pulling me with them across the finish line.
I’m very grateful and glad to say there will be more to come.

Two team-proposed resolutions have officially been sent to NFL teams ahead of the 2026 Annual League Meeting.
One of them has been proposed by the #Steelers: Making the two-day negotiation window even more active:
✔ Teams can have one direct call with up to five UFAs
✔ Travel can be arranged once terms are agreed
More proposals (including from the Competition Committee) are coming next week.

“I know, right? It’s like they can’t deport them fast enough… I honestly wish they would just cut us wagon burners loose on them… do you like effigy mounds?”
