I love this tweet… "Sorry, Mr. President, but your promises no longer carry much weight with us. You promised us stable electricity, yet today, we're still battling darkness.” There was a heated exchange between Dr. Reuben Abati and Rufai Oseni over Tinubu’s 1993 U.S. civil forfeiture case involving $460,000. Active case or not, someone with such a record should not lead a country!

Dear @PoliceNG and the inspector General of Police, does it mean your personnel don't go through orientation before being recruited? Imagine the audacity of the people you gave riffles to protect the people. With this kind of bragging rights, don't you think that this man can kill without looking back? Why should Nigerians meant to be more afraid of security agents than the actual criminals? If the Inspector General of police is serious with his reforms, this man and others like him are supposed to be stripped of that uniform, and also tried and sent to jail.

@Morris_Monye @KingKamaaal Quote "She instead destroyed it rather than give it up like that. We are all Africans. We should not be doing this." The statement "we are all Africans and shouldn't be doing this" seems 2b against the woman's action whereas your intent is against the order to give up her shop.

This has to be state sanctioned theft. This woman was told to hand over her business because a South-African wanted to run it. She instead destroyed it rather than give it up like that. We are all Africans. We should not be doing this.

I struggle to understand public officials who proudly celebrate sending their children abroad while the schools they oversee are collapsing. It's not about whether they can afford it. They have every right to spend their money however they choose. It's about emotional intelligence and leadership. Publicly celebrating your escape from a system you are responsible for fixing sends the wrong message to millions of families who have no such option. The goal of public service shouldn't be to build an exit plan for your own children. It should be to build a country where every parent's child has access to an education so good that leaving becomes a choice, not a necessity. That's the standard we should demand.

Broad societal initiatives aimed at diminishing tribalism are crucial for fostering national unity; however, law enforcement agencies must be subject to the highest standards of accountability. When state officials employ ethnic identity as a tool to intimidate or target individuals, dismissing such actions as mere routine tribalism undermines the principles of justice and hampers genuine reform.

When ethnic prejudice originates from law enforcement or government officials, it goes beyond ordinary social tension — it transforms into systemic profiling and harassment. Targeted actions by authority figures undermine public confidence in state institutions, making outrage over such incidents completely justified rather than just "playing a card."

There are terrible Individuals everywhere. I have encountered Igbo policemen on this same road who dealt with me until I spoke yoruba to the senior man there and the senior officer asked him to let me go. I have also encountered terrible yoruba officer who discriminated against me until I spoke yoruba and he shamefully allowed me leave. There are terrible police men everywhere, they'll show their disgusting behaviour against others regardless. Let's not make it about IGBOS.

Although ethnic prejudice is present among different groups in Nigeria, dismissing a particular case of police misconduct by citing widespread bias creates a misleading comparison. Overlooking a specific police profiling incident with the excuse that "everyone does it" sidesteps accountability for how authorities treat individual citizens. With all due respect, you are an idiot sir.

Oh please, zip it! This is not a one-sided issue. Every tribe does it. The Igbos are not innocent either. Yorubas do it, Hausas do it, and Igbos do it as well. Tribalism is one of the major things holding this country back, and it needs to stop. This is not the time to play the childish victim card. That narrative is old, tired, overused, and frankly ridiculous.

Can Yoruba people explain clearly and specifically what exactly Igbo people did to them? Can we get a clearly itemised bullet point list? Because the tribalism and hatred of Igbos from Yorubas specifically is very confusing I don’t think it’s as confusing when it’s from Hausas
