@VanJones68 Is it any different to how western countries stopped Russia Today (the Russian English Service) going live to air when the Ukraine war began? Did they not want us to know the Russian perspective?

It's been more than 45 days since Iran's internet went dark. And the Iranian regime is burning through MILLIONS per day to keep 92 million people offline. Why spend so much to silence your own country? Because when you control the internet, you control the story. When a government won't let its OWN PEOPLE speak, question the narrative the outside world is hearing.

@sabregold19991 @KingKong9888 Well that fine. But why then was such an international stink raised last year when Chinese warships were exercising 400Nm off the coast of Australia? Yes, 400Nm!!

My son got stabbed on a German subway yesterday Apparently an Afghan man got angry at him for not speaking Arabic He is in the hospital right now, and I have to say the experience has been absolutely wonderful He was seen by a doctor within 40 minutes of arriving The doctors were professional and helped my son right away No one asked for a credit card or insurance details His life was saved completely free of charge In America this would have cost $250,000 and he would be in debt for the rest of his life "Aren't you worried he got stabbed at all?" my wife was crying "Baby, crime exists everywhere but free healthcare does not" I told her My son is recovering well and should be back at his feet within couple months It feels so fantastic to be protected by the EU

@AndyBurt2012 @FelicityBuche @thealepalombo Dude what's with the laughing emoji all the time? This is a serious issue for a segment of the country. I had an issue last year, booked my 7 week appointment with GP, went to Asia for work and saw Dr. Arrived home and went to appointment 3 weeks later anyway to make a point.

@40South @FelicityBuche @thealepalombo 🤣 You said it takes 8 weeks to get a GP appointment in New Zealand, that is quite obviously false for Wellington and Auckland. I feel for the regions if that is the case. That does suck and needs to be addressed for sure.

Everyone talks about Argentina and Uruguay as the WW3 hedge. I'd pick New Zealand. Not even a close call. It's structurally harder to break than anywhere else on that list: - Genuinely isolated. A remote island at the edge of the world, not a contested continent - AAA institutions, rule of law, no capital controls - English-speaking, first-world healthcare and schools The vehicle is the Active Investor Plus visa: - ~US$2.9M (NZ$5M) into NZ businesses and funds, locked 3 years - 21 days on the ground, total, over those 3 years - At the end: PR that never expires, zero presence required: you can leave for a decade, walk back in whenever - Spouse and kids are included automatically for PR - Critically, any child born there to a PR holder is a citizen by birth You're buying an unconditional right of return to a stable, remote, English-speaking democracy, for your entire family, forever. Three years of locked capital in. Three weeks on the ground. Caribbean passports are a different story. The southern cone is great, true...until it isn't. Serious paths always outlast clever shortcuts. Also, New Zealand looks like this.

@AndyBurt2012 @FelicityBuche @thealepalombo It isn't a question of being OK, upset, or not. But I see what you're trying to do there Its just fascinating how two city folk who are so wrapped up in themselves think because they can get a Dr's appointment tomorrow, the rest of the country can also When clearly, they can't

@kiwimum13 Probably water based paint.. meaning 90% of it is water. Half the cleaning products or lawn care products people use daily are doing far more damage to the environent.

@kiwimum13 Calm down luv. Its obviously water based paint, which isn't too harmful to the environment. I left a bucket of it open a few years ago and my dog thought it was milk and drank some and it didnt do anything bad to him Though he did have a big white grin for the rest of the day

@40South @FelicityBuche @thealepalombo Like Felicity, I could also get a GP appointment tomorrow and have never had an issue. From Wellington so can’t speak for the regions. But between Wellington and Auckland you are talking about 2 million people who don’t have an issue with this massive problem you raise.

There are 14 National Ministers in the cabinet. One is Māori. None are Pasifika. In Labour's top 14 MPs there are 3 Pasifika, 2 are Māori. Jo Luxton who is Māori sits at 15th. Ginny Andersen is also fluent in te reo Māori.

@thealepalombo @40South New Zealander here. This country is amazing. I live in Auckland and I can get an appointment with my doctor today or tomorrow. I have lived in several countries overseas before returning to live in NZ.

@40South @thealepalombo Where was that? I never waited more than a week max for a GP appt in AKL. Usually it was a few days. Longer waits in the regions though I hear.

@thealepalombo I live in nz it is very socialist, the Healthcare is a train wreck atm..we do have hope with one of the smaller parties who talks commonsense. If Labour & the greens get back in power it is lights out for NZ.
