The last time the Canes were in a National Championship game, it was in Phoenix. My bro and I drove out there without tickets. Could NOT find them under about $1000, we were poor then; I was making $24,000 as a first year teacher. My bro gives me a $100 bill and goes "follow me." He walks up to the guy taking tickets, gives him a $100 bill. Dude looks at it and looks at my bro and pretends to rip a ticket in half. He then signals me. I go through the line. Works for me too! Then I said "where are we sitting bro?!" He goes, "I got us in, you find us seats." We walk into the stadium, the Miami band is on the field; their whole seating section is now empty. We go to the last row, and sit there. The band starts filing in. Tuba guys are in that row. They're like "are these your seats?" I said yep! They go, "cool man, Go Canes, we got room." There were like 6 tuba guys for the whole row that probably sat 15. We saw the greatest college football National Championship to date, for a Benjamin!!
