I think you're really missing something important. One-franchise guys and team captains do have a certain aura. Think about Ripken, Jeter, Musial, Helton, Votto; they have X factor beyond their numbers. David Wright would have been one-and-done if he was a six-team journeyman.
Hugh Jupside@HughJupside

I haven’t the foggiest idea what “Team Captain” or “One Franchise Player” has to do with a Hall of Fame determination. Team Captain? Part of a player’s Hall of Fame argument is………. Team Captain? Clemente Award? Wonderful. It’s the Baseball Hall of Fame, not the Nice Guys Hall of Fame.

@notgaetti @DonnieCollinsTT Cannot disparage other people’s culture for clicks and social credit score points. They do stuff like that in Puerto Rico and he’s from Puerto Rico. Hell they do it east of Austin. This isn’t Michael Vick level stuff here, NG.

Man, and to think I was an Edwin Diaz fan. A new article tying Diaz to an illegal cockfighting ring in Puerto Rico makes you wonder if MLB will address it or if it'll simply get brushed under the rug like Ohtani's gambling escapades. This is crazy.

@shegone03 @Teacherman1986 @TheJudge44 Not only is he late, he’s also jammed. The pitch would have hit the tan part of his bat. This is your best post on the subject. Clearly shows how Judge is just different.

The grifter @Teacherman1986 is now posting videos of his Meal Ticket @TheJudge44 swinging so late that he causes catchers interference and calling it Barrel Depth. 😂😂😂😂😂 Just watch where the barrel is when the ball crosses the plate. This is precisely why Aaron Judge hits most of his HR’s the other way. Being LATE is a killer for 99.99% of @MLB hitters but when you’re Judge’s size you can slice ball’s to the opposite field and get away with it! Barrel Depth is just another way of saying he has a LONG SWING! #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @iamrags @artofhitting @hittingguru7 @slider_sinker @SliderDom @low_and_outside @TheRealJHair @DMEASrecruiting @VandyonTigers @mikepiazza31 @SalMarinello @RVGDag @AMBS_Kernan

I have never heard of this But also, Delgado was 37, had a 17-year career under his belt, started off as a catcher, played on turf, etc. etc. etc. But also, what steroid users had “the same type of career-ending hip injury” of which you speak?

@pladinosaur It’s simple. There are more dirty details that haven’t been made public. MLB knows what they are, which is how they gave him a massive suspension. All the dirt gets made public if there’s a lawsuit, and Bauer doesn’t want that to happen.

@shegone03 @Teacherman1986 Serious question, Jeff…do major leaguers just reinvent their swings like this? Manny is going to the HOF doing it the way he’s always done it. If this is true, does it make sense that he would do this? He’s chasing down 3,000/500. Why change a thing?

If it’s TRUE that Manny Machado worked with @Teacherman1986 this offseason this would be devastating for the HLP clan! The HLP graveyard is growing and we don’t even know how many amateurs have been ruined trying to SNAP-IT and create TORSION using the Propeller and the Tilter! @CasinoJoe7 @DavidPSamson @BauerOutage So why the hell hasn’t he done that? Because there’s more dirt on him that hasn’t been made public and MLB knows what it is. A lawsuit would reveal all.

This will never happen. First of all, no team wants to sign him. Secondly, no player is allowed to play for $0. And finally, no team wants to sign him.
Trevor Bauer (トレバー・バウアー)@BauerOutage

Hypothetical: You’re the owner of an MLB team. I offer to take $0 salary and sign a minor league contract and go to Low A. If the “he sucks now” crowd is right and I get lit up, you cut me, lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If the “clubhouse cancer” crowd is right, you see it immediately at Low A and cut me. You lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. If there’s massive negative PR, which we already know there won’t be, you just cut me and move on. The story is dead in a couple days, you lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. But, assuming none of those things happen, which they obviously wouldn’t, if you like what you see, you can promote me to AA and re evaluate me there. Then AAA. Then the big leagues. If I earn it, which you’d be 100% in control of deciding. If you don’t think I’m good enough, you lose $0 and there’s no risk to the big league club. You could take away my “antics”. You could take away my social media. You could ask anything of me. If I don’t comply, you cut me, lose $0, and there’s no risk to the big league club. What logical reason is there to not do this? At worst, you cut me and there’s no risk to the big league club. At best, you get a Cy Young winner for $0 who you know can still pitch and could help the big league team if and when you see fit.

@notgaetti You mean which team wants the media attention that comes with signing the worst pitcher in the Japanese league, who is also 35 years old and beats women? There’s no upside for any team.
