Stop Female genital mutilation. We say No. It is harmful. Leave a girl child the way she is created. No rubbing or massaging.

Anybody discouraging the younger ones from studying medicine and surgery is not honest. The privileges that come with this certificate and license are enormous. I got more than 5 jobs at federal government hospitals at the end of my house job. I still went for NGO. Now, I am leaving NGO to go for state government work. I have worked in Airforce and Army facilities, and I was given senior officers lodge. I don't even need to search for a job except some other few highly lucrative organizations, but having a job to earn a leaving is never a problem and won't be in the next 100 years. Is OK if you tell them the challenges but allow them to make the decisions for themselves.

The same women who do not talk about sexual abuse of boys by older women because it must not be heard that women sleep with boy children? If not for Twitter, many of you didn't know about this. It was just a conversation between boys because it was a norm to lose virginity before 10. Even with the knowledge, it is still not a topic of interest for same reason the older women turned a blind eye. The girl child is very protected. We just have more work to do on that. The boy child has never been protected. It is believed he would be alright regardless. There is no era of human existence women have not been put first - even before children.
Raye@Raye_Hg

Nigerian older women were taught to put themselves and the girl child last. We were raised like our lives were auditions to belong to a man. That’s why they often protect men and not girls, even in cases of abuse. But our generation is breaking that cycle. Protect your girl child, Dear father & Mother, even if the harm comes from family. #thispostisforthegirlchild

In 2014, West Africa was facing the worst Ebola outbreak in history. The deadly virus had ravaged countries like Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone—but had not yet reached Nigeria. That changed when Patrick Sawyer, a Liberian-American diplomat, arrived at an airport in Lagos, Nigeria on July 20, 2014. Shortly after landing, he suddenly collapsed at the airport and was rushed to First Consultant Hospital, where Dr. Stella Ameyo Adadevoh, an endocrinologist and the lead physician in charge of the clinic, received him. Sawyer presented with fever and other nonspecific symptoms, so he was initially suspected to have malaria. However, what no one knew at the time was that Sawyer had just returned from Liberia after attending his sister’s funeral—she had died of Ebola. When Sawyer failed to respond to malaria treatment and his condition worsened, Dr. Adadevoh began to suspect Ebola, despite there being no confirmed case yet in Nigeria. When the Liberian embassy reportedly pressured the hospital to discharge Sawyer so he could attend a conference, Dr. Adadevoh refused. Fully aware of the risks and the potential for a national catastrophe, she placed him under strict quarantine, defying diplomatic pressure. Her decisive action prevented Sawyer from leaving the hospital and unknowingly spreading the virus to hundreds, possibly thousands, of people in Lagos—a city of over 20 million. Because of her courage and quick thinking, Ebola’s spread in Nigeria was limited to just 19 confirmed cases and 8 deaths, all traced back to Sawyer. Tragically, Dr. Adadevoh herself contracted the virus while caring for him and died on August 19, 2014. Today, Dr. Stella Adadevoh is remembered as a national hero whose bravery, medical judgment, and moral courage saved Nigeria—and potentially all of West Africa—from a devastating epidemic. Her story is taught in medical schools as a shining example of ethical leadership and the power of one doctor’s decision to protect public health above all else.
