The reason Broadening ranges are important is because it's one of the 3 things price action can do.
It shows you sellers WANT to sell into new lows and that buyers WANT to buy above previous highs.
This means at the highs sellers are willing to sell all the way back thru the range and at the lows buyers are wiling to buy all the way back through the range.
