Baseball is second only to golf in terms of the uniqueness in playability it can provide its athletes. Sadly, too many designers aren't capitalizing on opportunities to truly customize, showcase regionality, or respond to contextual constraints.

Proud partner alert: @Destinedtofish is currently in second at the 2021 @GuaranteedRate @bassmaster Elite — looking to chase down the leader with a strong Day 3 on Lake Champlain.
Here’s to hoping our @DuraEdge friend has himself a 23lb. day.

It’s so hard to cram 4 weeks into 1 minute and the fact that we did all this in just 4 weeks blows my mind. I’ll say it a million times, @Nathanc47010798 @lasergraderUt are absolutely incredible and with the help of @4MostSport and @DuraEdge we’re ready for the 2021 season!

I’ve been pursing this project since last July and am so excited to see it unfold. Huge shoutout to @Nathanc47010798 @DuraEdge @lasergraderUt @4MostSport @luke_yoder @grantcmcknight for the HUGE helping hand in getting a major league quality field to Reno

Greater Nevada Field will look a lot different this year when fans return to the ballpark. @Aces Head Groundskeeper, @leahlou2, is changing out the field. There are also new LED lights, and pole-to-pole nets for fan safety. Here is the latest:

I have no bias whatsoever to natural vs synthetic debate; there's places for both in the right situation. This makes me think of an old axiom though:
"A synthetic field looks/plays best the 1st game of the 1st season. A grass field looks/plays best the 1st game of every season."

Tiger Stadium is ready for the 2020 Season Opener. Great job by @fieldsourceohio and the PLSD Grounds Crew. Go Tigers!

@Gawbage29 @AndyOmmen1 Bingo. Can’t get John & Sally Smith to write a $50,000 check for an [invisible] “Memorial Soil Profile.” It’s not sexy, and let’s be real; benefactors *are* selfless people, but they secretly love to see their names on that plaque. It’s human nature. Use that for Phase II items.

@AndyOmmen1 I always work from mound out. Have a half gravel parking lot...I cant spend 15 G on that. Those turf areas behind plate? How do I ask booster for 20 G to be spent entirely in foul territory?
English

Awesome point here. So many places have beautiful fencing, bleachers, concession stands....and the players suffer on a crappy field. I was able to focus expenses with my board more on the game and not so much the aesthetics for the fans.

@Dan_Jennings1 @DuraEdge @Homefield_ Could the time: Increase safety, performance, & reduce maintenance. While some budgets are tight now, consider shifting funds from other planned projects like scoreboards or snack stands to the heart of your playing field. Cant sell a hot dog if field is not playable. @DuraEdge

Good to see youth #ballfields full and facing the proper direction. Hitting a baseball is one of the toughest things to do on this planet. There’s no need to make it any tougher for the 10 year olds that want to quit after every strikeout.
English

This is how synthetic turf earned the lion’s share of the baseball market. Can’t fix stupid.

😳😳😳 WHAT. IS. GOING. ON. HERE???

@AndyOmmen1 Only thing missing is the 51m under it for the metric Canadians in attendance

You need a little Tuesday video break.
Episode 2 of #TheCloverleafChronicles, but it’s Part I of this foul ball topic. Hopefully that doesn’t confuse. Never intended to do the dramatic cliffhanging two-parter this early in the series, but here we are.
