It’s completely misleading and the majority of pip claimants have little to no additional costs each month

Labour making a political choice to cut vital support for one of the most vulnerable groups in the UK is unforgivable.

@ThePIPDevil It is if you don’t live with someone 24/7 given that not being able to do an activity repeatedly, safely, to a reasonable standard and within a reasonable time frame at any point in the day when it would be reasonable to expect to do it counts as a day when you can’t do it.

@ThePIPDevil What he sees me do for an hour at my best on 3 days a week tells him nothing about which descriptors I qualify for. He doesn’t see the other 23 hours those days or any hours the other 4 days. Nor has he seen the reports from 9 consultants and a GP that back up my claim.

@ThePIPDevil And disabilities are both physical and invisible. My neighbour can’t see what’s wrong inside me so makes assumptions based on how I look on the occasions he sees me.

@ThePIPDevil So nobody observing a neighbour can have any idea what they said on their form or how they qualified or whether what they see of them suggests it’s fraud. My neighbour thinks I’m a fraud. He sees me maybe once a week walking to my car or the garden. I look fine. Briefly.

@ThePIPDevil There are several ways of getting enhanced mobility with an invisible disability. You can combine scores from both mobility questions. You can get it all from the other question. You have to be able to do an activity reliably most days not just once to count as able to do it.

@4ajw3 I’ll give you an example. Someone says my neighbour has a Motability car for invisible disability , the tool tells them the only way they can get this is by saying to dwp I cannot follow a journey over 50% of time. If person knows they go out alone every day it’s high fraudrisk

@ThePIPDevil Will it observe 24/7 to detect if there was another point in the day where they could not do the activity ‘reliably’ (PIP regs say if there is any point in the day when they need to do it but cannot, that counts a day when they cannot do it at all).

@PacoOnPause @LettersfromTim @flaming0fan Not even then. Most I know blame it on anything but Covid. Sister in ICU with multiple blood clots on both lungs. Doctors claim to be ‘mystified’. I mention her previous Covid infections. Nobody wants to even consider it.

@ARandomKaren @lawks1 There are twice as many able bodied job seekers as jobs available so no, there isn’t always the option of working. And many on UC are genuinely too sick to work. Making them poorer will just make them sicker and more of a drain on other services, it won’t cure them.
