yep so torn on what I went to do really now off start again. Gemling Cross bow still by far my fav, then Werewolf. But going over these patch notes making me so torn on what to do really. I already got over 20 build kicking around on what I can do. Hmm still really want to do the boss tame.

@nori_pasta @PiggyKropotkinn yea thats why i said it is good, ik it's likely just a bandaid but i rlly hope they just go with a dedicated slots plus stat tuning, seeing some suggest nades require more squares but that just sounds miserable for low gear runs and doesnt fix how annoying and messy switching is

@PiggyKropotkinn a good solution imo would be to have a dedicated quick use slots above the backpack slot where u can arrange euipment how u please and equipment can go only there to prevent stacking, like 3 slots plus the in-use slot, less inv clutter, better control and less spam

@PiggyKropotkinn Good change but rlly hope this is jist a placeholder, pre-made trios can just have 1 guy hold util nades n other two fill their inv with frags, emps... to spam in a fight, also i just dont rlly like switching everytime an equipment is thrown considering how ass the radial menu is

Okay Marathon players I'm going to need hard evidence that key based Matchmaking (In cryo specifically) isn't a myth because last weekend I was fairly certain but after 5 Cryo runs tonight I'm like 95% certain. Did a vault 1 and 2 run, matches were good, loaded into lobbies in a few seconds at most. Did 2 vault 6 runs (with my only 2 vault 6 keys I've found in 300 hours of play) and we noticed instantly matchmaking for both took well over 2 mins and we got completely rolled by death squads. Did another lower key run and straight back into fast matchmaking times. This combined with all of the stuff I was noticing last week it just seems like way too many coincidences. @Skarrow9 and @RyGilliam I know you guys said you didn't believe it but is there any specific reason why?

@PorkPoncho I honestly do my vault requirements and head to the vault. I take the back routes and just go around the map using vents and alternate paths. We never go to control unless we know that there’s no other squads or final exfil. I’m 8/8 this weekend on vaults

might be a hot take, but I genuinely think gold weapons and gear should be rarer than gold salvage, not the other way around like it is now gold salvage is directly tied to upgrades and progression. gold gear can be earned entirely via faction barters and credits once VIP

@MallowTheQueen It's like weapon unlocks and lvling in cod or bf, it's not difficult more so time consuming, faction uogrades should be likewise, im nearing 160 hrs n only got 1 hazard n 1 alien n all i do is farm marsh m outpost, it's ridiculous considering how strong gold uogrades are

If @MarathonTheGame can somehow find a way to optimize Marathon to run at 120 FPS on console instead of 60, player counts would genuinely skyrocket imo, it’s a lose-lose between pc and console as pc offers a smoother experience but with cheaters and console offers a safer place to play legit but at 60 FPS in 2026. If console had a 120 FPS option Marathon would see a rise in players who would switch back just to have a fair chance and an even playing field.

@Ziegler_Dev it defo needed a nerf but i dont think dmg is the right move, Rate of fire and stability imo would be better to consider first considering what type of shotgun it is, blue and purple shields are quite common now so rooks are screwed, we'll see tho, keeping an open mind

UPDATE: WTF WSTRs We're gonna take a shot at bringing the WSTR more in line. Right now it's become a dominant option and is eclipsing a lot of the other short range options that exist in the game. SOOOOOO... as of Tuesday 4/21 (likely 8AM PT) the WSTR will no longer be able to down an enemy player who has blue shields or above with two shots. The ideal is that in a majority of cases this will force a reload in scenarios where the target has a blue shield, allowing for some more counterplay in these scenarios. What Will Change: - Change will go live Tuesday 4/21 in the morning. Likely 8AM PT. - WSTRs can still down a green shielded target with 2 direct shots at short rang - WSTRs will no longer be able to down a blue and above shielded target with 2 shots at short range. We're still keeping an eye on a variety of balance issues. Thanks for all the feedback, keep it coming and we'll keep hammering at it.
