You guys better pray for that girl. What some of you did to her is exactly the sort of thing that can make her stop going to church, become depressed, and the many worse things that follow from that. Public humiliation like that is not a joke please stop acting so damn wreckless

Protestants use the Masoretic, which is a version trusted by King James and Martin Luther that was edited by Anti-Christian Jews 1000 years after Christ who removed a bunch of books to ratify Judaism

@jontheharris In the first 300 years of Christianity you didn’t have a set book called “Bible” and most people were illiterate. A group of Church leaders had to preach and actually compile the Old Testament with the letters, epistles and writings of the apostles to give you a Bible.

@jontheharris @bannedpastor They exercised binding authority under the Holy Spirit’s guidance. This is the biblical model and precedent for ecumenical councils. Nowhere does the Bible teach that individual interpretation or Scripture alone detached from the Church is authoritative. The Church came first

@jontheharris The first Ecumenical Council is established in Acts 15 of the Bible. The apostles and elders gathered, debated, and issued a binding decision on doctrine and practice for the whole Church. They didn’t appeal to Scripture alone for the final ruling on Gentile inclusion.

This isn’t equivalent to private youthful mistakes on polaroid photos before 2007. A man risks discovering this on the internet later and erodes trust.

@bannedpastor Ecumenical Councils are infallible because they have the representation of the Apostolic Patriarchates, but regional councils are fallible because they do not have the Apostolic representation. Regional councils are only elevated to dogmatic authority when they become Ecumenical.
