It’s the classic battle: a $50,000 robot vs. a $10 sledgehammer. The irony is that as we go more high-tech, the resistance just goes back to basics. But would you rather have a human guard who can de-escalate with words, or a remote pilot 50 miles away watching through a thermal lens?

First it was Black Mirror, now it’s just Monday in Atlanta. A company called Undaunted raised nearly $1M this February to flood Atlanta with these "pack" patrols. ​They are called private security "packs" and now patrol ATL streets. These autonomous dogs are controlled by remote pilots, equipped with thermal vision, and carry sirens loud enough to stop you in your tracks. ​The policy shift happened quietly: property managers are replacing human guards with these AI-synced bots at half the cost. In one DeKalb complex, they’ve already cleared out crime and doubled occupancy. ​ ​Safety or Scifi Nightmare?

Nobody, especially EMTs, want to pulverize grandma's chest to restart her heart just to watch her die in agony, unable to breathe from broken ribs, a short time later

When my grandmother was 99 she had a pacemaker fitted. They flew her to Wellington for the operation. Before they went the guy asked her if she wanted to be resuscitated. She said yes. The guy then asked her again, explaining that it can cause quite painful injuries. She was a completely capable woman of full mental capacity and said yes she understood and please resuscitate her if she needed it. He then asked her a third time, telling her that her quality of life might be different. At that point, my grandmother turned to my father and asked “What does he want me to say?” and Dad then intervened telling the now very defensive guy to knock it off. That kind of low level pressure happens in the health system every day.

The reason the Iranian govt is releasing propaganda videos (in English) is because they know the only way they can possibly survive this war is by convincing the American public to apply enough pressure on Trump that he stops it. This should be obvious, but people are dumb.
