@jenniferlagarde Have you seen what Boston Public Schools is doing? SLJ Dec 20th issue article about how they are working toward equity with the strategic plan for equity in libraries across the district! It can happen anywhere.. and GID is a cornerstone to their plan! :D @InquiryK12

I know there's a lot going on in the world at the moment. It can be hard to focus our efforts to affect change, but here's something we can do to make a BIG difference. NOW is the time to spend 5 minutes contacting your WA State rep and members of the State Education Committee.

I'm urging all Washingtonians to call/email their state senators and the members of the Senate Education Committee, expressing their support for bill S5102 which will help ensure all students in our state have access to a credentialed Teacher Librarian.  apps.leg.wa.gov/districtfinder/

@shareski I feel like there is more urgency around it but less action in some spaces. We've settled into ruts and they are comfortable but not serving students well at all. Things like college board keep us in those spaces so innovation is really an uphill battle at times @lesliemaniotes

Does innovation hold the same value for schools today as it did a decade ago?

I am proud to sign a first-in-the-nation, bipartisan law to equip NJ students with tools to identify fact from fiction. K-12 media literacy education will empower future leaders to accurately assess information — essential in preserving our democracy in a time of disinformation.

I’m seeing some discouraging things around ChatGPT: 1.Schools blocking it 2. New apps promising to determine “cheating using ChatGPT Can we move past surveillance and rethink what school means in an age of AI?
