Was surprised how busy the City was last night. Even pubs overflowing. But offices are still very quiet, so what’s everybody doing?

@RemitConsulting @FinancialTimes @helentbiz Have lease commitments become an irrelevance? Probably, at least in the short to medium term. Most landlords recognise that building a road back to a sustainable business is imperative. They may not be sure what sustainable business means though. Lenders are watching.

@geatkins The one area of success was where they allowed existing local services to deliver the what was needed. At £10 per injection it's the best value on the planet. A marked contrast to the needlessly centralised £22bn Track and Trace debacle.

Clear from Hancock's bullish denial of any claims against him or the Govt of misconduct that they are pinning their hopes that the vaccine roll-out will mean we'll forgive them for all that preceded it. #Marr

@geatkins I really can't see how Trump's nature would allow this to happen. He might be in prison by that time anyway.

@antonyslumbers With PM Johnson trumpeting the huge numbers returning to offices, which is patently untrue, Antony's tweet is spot on. In my humble opinion!

The lack of innovation about innovation is disheartening. Just read yet another article mansplaining (these articles always seem to be written by men) that innovation only happens ....

@Nigel_Farage You are a miserable excuse for a human being Mr Farage. Is there no depth to which you wouldn't sink to ingratiate your self with the other incompetent bigots of the world?

@antonyslumbers Well, it depends! Say occupiers decided that they could, and would like to, accommodate 50% of the current staff in their current offices. Then say that the rent, rates etc. on those offices <50% (in round terms) of the current level = no change!!! Possible, but unlikely

@pulsford_gill Johnson and Cummings are now confirmed as effectively a single entity based on symbiosis. Cummings provides the brains and Johnson, the hair.

@geatkins The reason he knew that his eyesight test day was 12th April? Because that also happens to be his wife's birthday.

Maybe Dom shouldn't be fired now. Why not offer him the chance to stand as party leader? If he refuses, THEN sack him.

@Change_Britain Why would a third referendum be any less valid than the second? The Brexit Party leader used to be very keen on the idea of keeping up the campaign....and the voting.

If Remain MPs got their second referendum, and Britain voted to Leave again, do you believe they would respect the result then? Or would we have to keep voting again and again until they get the result they want 🤔

@antonyslumbers If the market believed the Net Asset Value, the share price should be close to that. REITS were supposed to overcome the large discounts to NAV because they are CGT exempt. Didn't work out like that.

Don’t REITS normally trade at below book value? Given the fundamental changes going on in real estate this situation looks pretty healthy. Or delusional...

@antonyslumbers @BritishLandPLC Meadowhall was a test site for number plate recognition too. Revealed a number of stolen vehicles entering the car parks. The initiative isn't always from the centre owner on these projects.

Hmm @BritishLandPLC now getting it in the neck, on #r4today, about facial recognition being used at Meadowhall shopping centre. The real estate industry needs to wake up about this. Or at least have perfect explanations & guidelines available.
