Release of all frozen Iranian assets 10. Controlled transit through the Strait of Hormuz coordinated with Iranian armed forces These are the Iranian side's claimed terms. Trump said on Truth Social that the 10-point proposal is "a workable basis on which to negotiate." The US has not publicly confirmed the specific points.

Yet, the market is now trading like the Iran War is ramping up for another month-long escalation. Why? Because he didn't explicitly de-escalate. Ironically, President Trump's address to the nation just now has imposed more pressure on the US through the market's reaction. The market, which was finally beginning to show some signs of calming, is now highly agitated, with US oil prices back to $104/barrel, stocks down sharply, and the bond market melting down again. Ironically, President Trump is now back to solving the problem he fixed earlier this week: How will he contain the market?

There are widespread reports on Iran allowing "any country aside from the US and Israel" to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. If this is true, China and India alone will be able to restore nearly 7 million barrels of oil supply PER DAY. In other words, ~39% of the 18 million barrels per day of supply currently offline due to the Strait of Hormuz closure would return to the market. This would be massive news if confirmed.
