@zachbussey I dumped my Turbo subscription when they went from $8.99 to $11.99 without adding any extra benefits. I would have kept it if they would have done something simple, like give affiliate channels more emote slots. But no, they can't do even that.

BREAKING: The top 20% of earners in the US now hold a record $49.1 trillion in equities and mutual funds, or ~87% of the total. By comparison, the middle 40% and bottom 40% own $5.9 trillion and $1.5 trillion, respectively. Since the 2020 pandemic, equity ownership among the top 20% has surged +$29.8 trillion, or +154%. By comparison, the bottom 80% have captured just +$4.2 trillion over the same period. To put this differently, the top 20% have gained +600% more than the bottom 80% in Dollar terms. As we have warned, asset owners are the only winners.

NYC is spending more per street homeless person than the median household earns in a year $368 million went to outreach teams, safe havens, and drop-in centers for 4,504 people. That's $81,705 per homeless person. The average NYC household earns $80,483 a year Spending tripled since 2019. The homeless population grew 26%. The state comptroller says the city doesn't publicly report expenses in a way that allows clear analysis of where the money is going

Anthropic's "Claude for Open Source" program has been an awful experience for me. I applied and got invited a couple days later. When I used the promo link to get free Max, it charged me $200, anyway. It has been 17 days of me trying to talk to a human to rectify that.

Important update: at the press conference I was able to talk to NVIDIA employees about DLSS5. They assured me that DLSS5 makes no changes to the characters at all (!), no changes to the assets, and no "AI filter" is applied to the characters. It's solely the lighting that makes it appear that way; they are completely the same, unaltered assets.

Software job postings are rebounding: US software development job postings on Indeed have increased +6.5% since the start of the year, to the highest since January 2024. Since May 2025, openings in this sector have risen +16.7%. As a result, the 21-day moving average is up to the highest since July 2024. By comparison, overall Indeed job postings remain near the lowest since February 2021. That said, software listings are still -69% below their March 2022 peak. At the same time, total openings are -35% below their 2022 high. Has the software job market bottomed?
