This Lenovo ThinkPad looks like a computer. I plug it in and it makes noises. But it's as far from a real computer as an iPhone is from a waffle iron.

Is OpenAI's o1 a good calculator? We tested it on up to 20x20 multiplication—o1 solves up to 9x9 multiplication with decent accuracy, while gpt-4o struggles beyond 4x4. For context, this task is solvable by a small LM using implicit CoT with stepwise internalization. 1/4

@ikeough Of course, it's just a text generator that uses statistical models to predict the best sounding words based on a weighted model of your input. Anyone telling you differently doesn't know any better or has an agenda.

@johntpierson Are you trying to push the changes from 3.0 / Revit 2025? Maybe it's detecting the wrong target framework in the dlls (or one of their dependencies) and complaining?

@ikeough For me they are painful to watch. It's clear that there is zero interaction happening here, just a lot of video magic. The only thing these videos show, is that OpenAI's marketing budged is probably bigger than their compute budget.This is starting to look almost as bad as crypto

I love these OpenAI demos. It's like watching a Tarot Card reader work. How to pretend like you know something without really knowing it. I haven't tried the newest model, but GPT-4 currently can't count the number of chairs in a picture of a room.

The answer is yes - the temp path is hard-coded and the package installer does not look at the env variable 🙄

@Twiceroadsfool @AutodeskRevit Do you by any chance have a linked dwg in that view? I had a case where a dwg looked good at first glance but one tiny 2d line had its coordinates in the stratosphere. That broke any 3d view that would show any portion of the dwg *and* had the section box turned on.
