Aerial view of Downtown Miami!
(1970, colorized)
Downtown Miami was a dense cluster of commercial towers, civic buildings, and roads weaving through a rapidly modernizing city.
The port bustled nearby, and newly constructed highways hinted at the transportation future. In the midst of all this, historic structures like the Dade County Courthouse still stood tall.
The city was expanding upwards and outwards, with each new building a sign of Miami’s ambition to become an international metropolis.
Take a closer look, and you'll see Brickell Key completely empty, and Fisher Island almost nonexistent! Brickell Key's first building was in 1982, known as Brickell Key One.
