‘18 year old die after taking pills to delay her period for a puja’ - reminds me of my mom; she took pills to delay her periods for a Puja and apparently it never came back. The doctor said she had attained ‘menopause’. Don’t know where to begin-the regressive society that doesn’t allow menstruating women into temples or the parents that conform to it. No words truly.

@Gk_India33 Periods are not unclean and cannot be compared with excretion. Do better. Periods and puja has no correlation.

Where was the pills in old days but people were adhering this tradition of staying away willingly. It’s you and your family have become regressive by taking pills, 99.99% are not, so don’t blame society. As a men also we don’t sit on pujas while doing excretory work untill bath or don’t touch anything unless sanitise or purify for fear of infection. Periods are also a bodily natural excretory work in continuity for number of days. Why we people make an issue of even good hygiene habits.
