@McFranchisee Got it. And you (generally!) are happy to do this based on the data you mentioned above, e.g. increased visit frequency from loyalty members, etc.

@5oclockshadw It’s easy - the franchisee pays when the user burns it at your restaurant regardless of where points came from.

JOBS TO BE DONE "Jobs to be done" are words that many people know in business, but few companies use the actual framework to drive behavior every day. It's an extremely powerful tool for founders & execs. If your values explain HOW to build, jobs to be done explain WHAT to build and WHY. In my opinion, they are far more important & concrete than your usual mission-vision statements. The the core idea: all people and companies “hire” and “fire” products according to a set of jobs that they need to accomplish. These jobs are their deepest needs. And they always need your company to get better at meeting them. The most intuitive example for “jobs to be done” is the ones Amazon chose: 1. Price: people will always want to pay less when they shop. 2. Selection: people will always want to see more selection when they shop. 3. Delivery speed: people will always want their items faster. If Amazon’s product does these 3 jobs well, it will continue to get “hired” by all of us. If another product does the jobs better, we will “fire” Amazon and “hire” the other product. Amazon insists that these 3 jobs will NEVER CHANGE, which makes them very powerful in decision making in the company. Note that Amazon’s product is not only made of code and engineering. It’s far bigger than that. For example, Amazon’s choice of delivery partners affects both price (job 1) and delivery speed (job 3). Once you articulate jobs to be done, you need to make them a company obsession. Train people on them when they join. Hang them on walls that people see often. Tell your team where you shine and where you need to improve. Mention them when declaring priorities. Make people derive functional frameworks from them. At Unit, we articulated the jobs for both types of customers: tech companies and banks (see image). They have unique angles and needs. And like all multi-customer companies, we need to care about both. Try it at your company. I highly recommend it 🙌

@celebrityhottub I now reflexively yell “step into it” every time my 3-year-old son throws at his baseball practice.

@alex Yes, you were talking to competitors, I'm sure. Ask them how much volume they move through their largest bank, and how "having multiple bank accounts" would have helped them if that largest bank failed, on pay day.

@alexisohanian 48 hours or less. They’ll likely come back with 1-2 requirements that need to be addressed, but (in my experience) small. I budget a work week: M/T review; W remediate and resubmit; T/F approval

The Cerebro app won't be ready until Q4, but do any of you have a sense for how long App Store approvals currently are for NEW apps (not updates)?
