@luxentX @cheanchung It's this 'waiting to be given more allocation' that limits our creativity. The planning of bus routes should be devolved to local councils by MOT, with MOT tendering to different operators and offering subsidies tied to KPIs like punctuality to ensure viability and efficiency.

@cheanchung Not a fan of the old minibuses. Unsafe and not economically viable in today's environment. I would prefer if Prasarana be given more allocation to run more buses. They already have some small buses and also on demand van rides. Government would have to willing to invest.

LETS REACTIVATE MINIBUS 🚌 Today I took the LRT to NU Sentral and experienced firsthand the biggest frustration many Klang Valley commuters face daily: last-mile connectivity. From Seksyen 6 PJ to the nearest LRT: ❌ No direct feeder bus ❌ Rapid On-Demand waiting time: 58 mins

@tedmzs1772 @luxentX That's precisely why people need to have these discussions. And the blind sides on both camps need to be illuminated. Conventional pig farming does have adverse environmental impact, yet moral grandstanding can only get you so far until it starts eating into your own bottom line.

@tedmzs1772 @luxentX Reality not simple? Yes. Why? Bad faith actors who thrive on confusion to agitate people into thinking only from the emotive angle. I'm not saying there's only one angle, rather there's actly another angle that reveals how things may inadvertently turn out against your interest.

The state and federal government can still push through pig farming in Selangor if they wanted too, but will be political suicide to do so against a decree from the Sultan. This isn't a 'nasihat' but an official decree. Which ever MB who dares to go against a royal command, forget about forming the next stage government. We'll just have to import babi from overseas lah. I wonder how the babi come here though, is it by frozen containers or air flown?
New Straits Times@NST_Online

#NSTnation The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has once again affirmed that he does not consent to pig farming activities in Selangor, consistent with his royal decree made in February. bit.ly/48JZGPb

My ideal Southeast Asia is NO Malaysia, NO Indonesia, and NO Philippines. We should have multiple countries like in Europe. Each major island/region is a country. Java is a country. Aceh is a country. Minangkabau is a country. Sulu is a country. Mindanao is a country.

@tedmzs1772 @luxentX Let's try to take away the religious angle and purely look at supply and demand. Selangor has a demand which Sarawak is unable to meet. Pork becomes expensive, and alternative goods e.g. chicken will rise in demand and price. Jadi, nak beli ayam semua pun akan susah.

@luxentX Alamak !! Then the balance import frozen larr. Until Sarawak boleh supply semua. Or, buat macam import live cattle dari Australia / NZ kaa.

@luxentX But didn't they also say that 'titah' was just palace language for 'nasihat', in the sense that it isn't a directive. Seems that there's confusion around terminology, where it has been exploited and weaponised to mean tolak titah = derhaka.

@FreeMsian Interesting take. I read it as the Palace clarifying how decrees were part of the royal prerogative, the "right to warn", not binding directives to the Government, especially after attempts to even debate pig farming were politicised by the Opposition, dragging the Ruler in.

@The_Endie Mengikuti sistem demokrasi berparlimen, sokongan perlu dibuktikan di DUN melalui undi xpercaya, tapi UMNO pulak yg minta penagguhan sidang. Kalau mcm tu, kena jalan seperti biasa je lah sampai DUN bersidang lagi, dan Tuanku dah bertitah sebegitu jadi Krisis Perak xkan berulang.

If DSAI cannot pass this in June, then we know he is not serious about these two key reforms. He must make sure all the MPs are present in the Dewan to support this ... #Malaysia #TermLimit #Reforms

@HarisCountrys @Morphosyntax Not necessarily. For example, party elections is just pemilihan parti. As for any other organisation where elections are closed off to rank-and-file members only. Pilihan Raya seems to reserved for elections involving the general public. So the original context still holds.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! ‘Raya’ originally meant “big” but it has undergone semantic shift to the point that it now means something like “celebration”, e.g. musim perayaan. We still have ‘raya’ unmistakably meaning big in some phrases: Balai raya Bandar raya Jalan raya

@ViscountBP @astaf_gorilla Interestingly, the House (Dewan Rakyat) in Malaysia has a horseshoe layout while the Senate (Dewan Negara) has an oblong arrangement.

@ViscountBP @astaf_gorilla It's a bit more nuanced. In Westminster, the oblong halls with opposing grandstands, reflect the confrontational nature of party politics. In Washington, the hemicycle with the Speaker in the centre, encourages cross-party consensus. The horseshoe is somewhat of a compromise.

@Sauffie_84 @Aisehman Tapi masalahnya ada banyak pihak yg berniat jahat ("bad faith actors") yg memainkan sentimen emotif demi kepentingan peribadi. Boleh tgk negeri mana yg selalu diserang seolah² semua masalah yg dia xsuka tu disebabkan pihak lawannya. Dan kalau dibuktikan fitnah pun nak teruskan.

Orang Melayu dia boleh toleransi benda lain, tapi jangan usik agama dia. Orang Melayu mana boleh terima konsep hidup sekular, agama tinggal dekat rumah jangan bawa masuk pentadbiran. Anak orang Melayu boleh pilih agama sendiri lepas 18 tahun. Naik kahwin Melayu tak payah masuk islam. Pengiktirafan LGBT, kahwin sama jantina. Bila orang Melayu tengok agama dia kena pijak dan kacau, mereka tak teragak-agak Nak bawa negara ke kanan jauh. Salah 1 faktor komunis gagal, orang Melayu jahat macam mana pun, dia tak berani murtad. Lojik, macam mana orang Melayu nak sokong pergerakan yang ada sekarang perjuang sekular, kebebasan beragama.

This ia a good read. Helps to dispel any doubts about the existence of a “Green Wave”. So wake up and smell the coffee. The Malay majority is becoming even more conservative, including in their political preferences. What are you going to do? iseas.edu.sg/wp-content/upl…

I’ve heard and read her comments and opinions on many political issues. They are objective and neutral. If you were Madani, you would find them very useful in whatever political propaganda you might want to churn out. It would be stupid to target her for intimidation.

@thelast_demigod Now that Sabah is more developed, a 60% remittance from state to federation through third party like Bank Negara would be much more secure than a 40% special grant from federation to state.

@thelast_demigod Definitely a good idea. Ultimately, who collects the revenue is just as important as how much revenue is shared. The 40% net revenue was a good safeguard, but without the ability to collect it on its own, Sabah remains at the mercy of federal machinery.
