@theJeremyVine The van was definitely in the wrong but pretty obvious to an experienced cyclists what was going to happen next - I’d have waited - the van driver would have completed their manoeuvre - I’d have lost no more time than other road users have to allow for me sometimes

Since posting this, I've learnt the following — •If a van reverses into you while you're on a bicycle, it's down to you; •If the entire incident happens in a cycle lane, it's even more your fault; •If the van is going the wrong way down the cycle lane, that's on you as well
