BREAKING: RICE JUST ENTERED THE TRADE WAR.
China has rejected 3 shipments of non-basmati rice from India — citing GMO contamination.
But here’s the twist:
These consignments were already CLEARED by a Chinese agency before shipment.
And India?
No commercially approved GM food crops.
Only GM cotton is allowed.
So why the sudden rejection?
Now Chinese buyers are demanding an official “NON-GMO” declaration from
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Indian exporters have escalated the issue to
Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
This isn’t just about 3 shipments.
This is how trade pressure works in 2026:
→ Clear shipments first
→ Block them later
→ Demand new certifications
→ Reset the rules mid-game
For exporters, this creates:
• Shipment uncertainty
• Delays at ports
• Rising compliance costs
• Reputation risk
For importers, it creates leverage.
Because once you question “standards”
you control access.
And zoom out:
Energy flows restricted
Fertiliser flows disrupted
Now food trade getting weaponised
Different sectors. Same playbook.
This is no longer just a supply chain issue.
It’s a pressure chain.
And rice just became the latest lever.

@6dollarwheatguy @AlphaNews We have lost over 4 billion in taxable revenue the last two years due to people leaving Minnesota. We need to cut govt. spending and taxes fast in hopes that people with money return. MN government has let the people down with short cited policies.

Today I called on the Administration to allow for year round E-15. Increasing the amount of biofuels in our fuel supply is common sense. With gas prices skyrocketing and a war in the Middle East, we must be doing everything we can to bring down prices and decrease volatility.

@MinnesotaMiners @amyklobuchar I have been using ethanol since 1980. Outside of early fuel filter plugs I have not had any problem with ethanol. I run a farm. I have a lot of gasoline vehicles that we use ethanol.

@amyklobuchar E-15 is a joke. It damages your vehicle and gives you lower gas mileage and costs the same. Tell me where the upside is to using it other than it helps the corn farmers.
