@AmericanAir @ctlyle1 Gee why did you agree to automatically upgrade pilots dead heading over paying customers in your labor agreement? Infuriates me every time I pass by pilots in first on way to sit my platinum butt in coach.

We hear you, and we get how frustrating that must feel. Upgrade availability can change over time based on a few factors like flight demand, the number of elite members on your route, and how full those premium cabins are. Even with Platinum status, those upgrades can become more competitive, depending on the route and timing. We truly appreciate your loyalty and hope the next one clears your way soon.

I have platinum status on @AmericanAir. The first year, I got upgraded fairly often…maybe once out of every 4/5 flights. The last few years of retained status, I’ve been upgraded 1-2x, flying fairly frequently and mostly American hubs. Wonder what changed…

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating an incident where two planes from American Airlines and Delta nearly collided mid-air over Syracuse, New York. A police dash camera video captured the unnerving moment, showing the planes flying just 725 feet apart at their closest point. The incident occurred around 11:50 a.m. EDT on Monday due to a traffic control error that cleared one plane to depart from Syracuse Hancock International Airport while the other was cleared to land on the same runway. Experts say that, based on preliminary evidence, the flights were not actually on a collision course but were still flying in dangerously close proximity. Delta had 76 passengers on board, and American had 75. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the ordeal, but the close call has raised concerns about air traffic control procedures and safety measures. The FAA's investigation aims to determine how such an error occurred and to prevent similar incidents in the future.

To whom it may concern, There is a small town on the North Fork of Long Island in New York called Greenport. It’s wine country and has been booming for the last couple of decades and really exploded during Covid. Always used to be filled with bachelorette parties, families and people looking to eat farm to table. The chart on Greenport is a straight shot to the moon. Better than bitcoin. I’m an investor in neighboring towns, so I know it well. It’s a Greek / American hotspot as many of our family members brought the town to prominence. The last couple of summers and especially this one the locals have been complaining that it’s been quiet. Restaurant owners wondering where the people are. Stores closing at weird hours. Empty streets, piers, parks, carousels and empty retail stores. I walk around often and have seen the businesses suffering, tourists lacking and the streets not filled with laughter. You know why? Because in a 4-5 block radius in the town I saw over 20 pride flags 🏳️‍🌈 Some stores draped in them, but nobody is shopping, eating or drinking. Yet they still ask what’s happening, Couldn’t be more obvious to a father. As a father of three, I can tell you parents who have visited one time, won’t be back. Why would they, and I don’t blame them. Why am I here? Cause I own properties. Otherwise I wouldn’t. It’s become perverted and desolate. Like a cult has taken over. Greenport won’t recover unless the American flags rise and families see that and come back. You gay? Lesbian? That’s cool, do your thing. You have sexualized the town and now the money is going elsewhere. People just want a coffee, sushi, a steak, a muffin and some ice cream. They don’t care about who you sleep with, and to constantly explain to their kids what’s happening. Everyone is going places where they can just be normal and have fun. There are tons of towns like this across the USA close to big cities. They come because of how awesome conservatives made them, and destroy them for nobody to care again. @AmericanAir While on a series of delays yesterday, it was surprising and disappointing to see (from my coach seat) three uniformed crew members presumable deadheading sitting in first class. As a lowly platinum flyer who never gets upgrades, now I know why!
