The Scottish Parliament voted for Scotland to have the powers to hold an independence referendum. Because Scotland’s future should be decided by the people of Scotland.

@boswelltoday @ionafyfe That’s disturbing. Seems Iona knows little about the case, who signed off accounts when others refused to and who was caught on camera, basically telling others to shut their traps about money issues or else. She could avoid looking very silly by reading Robin McAlpine’s blog 👌

.@IonaFyfe has blocked half of X, presumably to protect herself from the unbearable cruelty of people noticing what she says. So here she is on another platform, laying out her Nicola Sturgeon sycophancy in plain sight. A useful little window into the mind of the permanently captured.

Seven hours of “no comment”. After all the trembling-voiced sermons. After all the moral superiority. After all the staged sincerity and little head tilts of wounded virtue. Nicola Sturgeon, when finally placed under pressure, chose silence. What a grim, self-serving fraud she turned out to be. Into the sea.

Nicola Sturgeon passed her driving test aged 53. Her schedule and work life had stood in the way of her doing something as normal as learning to drive. Is it really THAT unimaginable that her and her husband had become so distant and estranged that they didn’t “socialise” or go on holiday? If you ask me, this is a tragic state of affairs.

Never forget: Nicola Sturgeon may not have been directly involved in the crime, but she went on TV and told blatant lies to cover up the fact that a crime had been committed. By this stage the published accounts had proved beyond any doubt that the money had indeed gone missing.

@scotfax Reducing drilling is all well and good, but our grid infrastructure is woefully inadequate to support the required volume increase from renewable sources. Yet @theSNP seems oblivious to this fact....

Anxiety benefit claims have doubled since the SNP took control of welfare from Westminster. Their answer to too many people out of work? Park more people on benefits instead of helping them into jobs, skills and independence. Another SNP “success story” funded by taxpayers.

🚨🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Green MSP Q Manivannan has been caught out big time. ‼️ Hes been telling voters he grew up starving from a lower caste family back in India. Turns out he went to a fancy private school in Chennai studied at a private uni and comes from a proper upper middle class background with doctors engineers and academics in the family. Now on a student visa in the UK and running for Holyrood. Wild how these stories unravel. #ScottishPolitics #WokeHypocrisy #IdentityPolitics

A narrator writes: The SNP won 58 out of 129 Holyrood seats. Which, unless you’re a product of Scotland’s increasingly underperforming school system, is obviously not more ‘than everyone else put together’. It was six fewer seats than the SNP won in 2021. And the SNP’s vote share was roughly 10 percentage points below its share in 2021. So by no acceptable definition did the SNP ‘win by a landslide’.

UNFURLING MURRELL Unless delayed again, Peter Murrell's trial takes place after the preliminary hearing on Monday 24th, in Edinburgh's High Court. This site will publish what is legally permissible. As with Alex Salmond's case, readers are asked to avoid conjecture, or stating personal opinion, lest it prejudices the defendant's case. He will appear at the High Court in Edinburgh for a Criminal Preliminary Hearing, according to the court rolls. Preliminary hearings generally see the accused enter a plea of guilty or not guilty, and are used to ensure prosecutors and the defence will be ready for trial when the date is set. Murrell had been due to appear at the High Court in Glasgow on February 20. However, one week before the date the hearing was pushed back to May and moved to Edinburgh. The former SNP chief executive, who is also the estranged husband of former first minister Nicola Sturgeon, faces charges as follows: 1. Embezzlement of £459,046.49 of SNP funds over a 13-year period (2010–2023). 2. Purchase of a £124,550 motorhome using SNP funds for personal use. 3. Creation of false duplicate sales documents relating to the motorhome to portray it as a legitimate party expense. 4. Use of £16,489 of SNP funds towards a £33,000 Volkswagen Golf in 2016. 5. Use of £57,500 of SNP funds towards an £81,000 Jaguar I-Pace in 2019, and allegedly creating a false invoice to disguise the purchase. 6. Claiming £18,408.91 in expenses allegedly not entitled to, including alleged false invoices. 7. Spending £159,757.39 of SNP funds at 82 retailers on items allegedly for personal use or the use of others (2014–2022). 8. Spending £81,610.19 of SNP funds on Amazon purchases (2010–2023), allegedly for personal use or others, recorded to disguise their true nature. Charges come after Police Scotland’s Operation Branchform, a long-running investigation into the SNP’s finances, which some newspapers claim has cost the taxpayer £2,173,089 as of April 30. [Freedom of Information request from Labour's Jock branch.] Police Scotland say £100,498 has been spent on overtime in the five years since the investigation began. The force also said the £2m figure does not include pension contributions, and do not cover the costs accrued by the Crown Office. Operation Branchform was launched in 2021 following a complaint by an independence activist asking what the SNP had done with more than £600,000 raised from the general public with the stated aim of using it as a fighting fund for a second independence referendum. In March 2023 Murrell (pictured) resigned as SNP chief executive, one month after his wife Nicola Sturgeon resigned as first minister. Murrell was arrested the following month, in April 2023, and then released without charge. One year later, in April 2024, Murrell was re-arrested and charged with embezzlement. In March 2025, Sturgeon and former (twice) SNP treasurer Colin Beattie, also arrested and questioned over the course of the police probe into the party's finances, were both cleared.

Imagine donating your hard-earned cash to the SNP thinking you were “saving Scotland” — only to watch the party’s former CEO end up in court accused of embezzling £459,000. What a humiliating state of affairs. news.stv.tv/scotland/peter…

Peter Murrell is due to appear at Edinburgh High Court tomorrow. He faces 8 charges of embezzling a total of £459,000 from 2010 to 2023, including using party funds to illicitly buy a £124,550 campervan & other vehicles for his personal use, as well as separately buying luxury goods, cosmetics and jewellery.

Not my usual tweet but I want a little rant. I got gifted 2 tickets to the Chelsea Flower Show so went with a friend yesterday. We paid for an overnight stay in a hotel, train fares and food. I can honestly say it was AWFUL. It was unbelievably busy with huge numbers of people making it impossible to walk - we were just shoved along by the crowd. I couldn’t see any of the show gardens because the fight to see them was 5 people deep. Even if you did get to the front you were being pressured to move on. We gave up after 3 hours and went to the Chelsea Physic Garden along the road which was a much welcome oasis of calm. The organisers of the show should be ashamed of themselves. Visitor numbers need limiting and I feel so sorry for anyone for whom this was a first time long awaited visit #RHSChelsea #RHSChelseaFlowerShow @GWandShows @GWandShows @The_RHS
