@iamnyct0n01r You're conflating ability with history. No-one is saying it was "too out there". It just didn't happen.
We have loads of proof Jesus existed in the middle east. We have zero proof of the BOM story. Why do you expect anyone to believe you?
English

Walked on water and rose from the dead but transcontinental travel is too out there
Jared Shult@jared_shult
The fact that Mormons believe Jesus came to America is still mind boggling to me
English

@Sunburnz1 @ldsfilmguy @Frogs_Of_Faith @FifthS60815 The Book of Mormon does contain Bible-like language that resembles Hebrew patterns. But those patterns are already available in the KJB and there are no clearly established Hebrew idioms unique to the Book of Mormon. Only confirmation bias would accept this a any proof at all.
English

We have the book of Mormon and it is full of evidence. It has chiasmus, Hebraic idioms. Plus all the witnesses.
Your claim it is imaginary is over stated and shows you are coping. I am sorry that happened to you.
But just because claims of the book of Mormon can't be proven. Doesn't change that what we do know and what we do have is a huge issue for those who just wish to diminish, mock and ridicule it.
If the book was really preserved by God, it is Him you will need to justify yourself too.
English

But a burning bush talking to Moses is totally believable guys. Trust me.
Danny@Truth_matters20
Mormons hate this fact, but it's true. Joseph Smith put his face into a hat and claimed to have received divine revelation. Why would ANYBODY believe that to be true?
English

@Sunburnz1 @ldsfilmguy @Frogs_Of_Faith @FifthS60815 Oh, look, a chiasmus! It must have been copied from an ancient reformed Egyptian tablet!

English

@Sunburnz1 @ldsfilmguy @Frogs_Of_Faith @FifthS60815 I have nothing to cope with. I’m trying to protect you. What you’re calling evidence doesn’t actually hold up. It leans heavily on selective interpretation, emotional investment, and reinforcement from your environment rather than clear, independent verification.
English

@ldsfilmguy @Frogs_Of_Faith @Sunburnz1 @FifthS60815 Like saying reformed Egyptian is imaginary? lol. Go ahead and prove me wrong.🤣 That’s the flipside of that coin. You can describe it, explain it, debate it but at the end of the day it’s still imaginary. You’ve got nothing.
English

@70x7again @Frogs_Of_Faith @Sunburnz1 @FifthS60815 Hey, that's what we say about you when you spew nonsense about our faith. I'm glad we have at least one thing in common!
English

@Frogs_Of_Faith @Sunburnz1 @ldsfilmguy @FifthS60815 The cool thing about imaginary things is that you can say whatever you want about them and you’ll never be proven wrong. You have absolute freedom to make up a purpose, history, structure, etc. out of thin air and act like you know what you’re talking about.
English

@70x7again @Sunburnz1 @ldsfilmguy @FifthS60815 Reformed Egyptian isn't a language, dude. It's a short hand scribing style using pictographs to conserve space and convey deeper meanings in less words. Nobody claimed it was an actual, spoken thing. Just a tool the Nephites inherited.
English

@Sunburnz1 @ldsfilmguy @FifthS60815 Who mentioned Greek? Nonetheless, at least Greek is an actual language. It didn’t go unnoticed that you ignored the fact that reformed Egyptian doesn’t exist.

English

@ldsfilmguy @Sunburnz1 @FifthS60815 Why don’t you check. We have plenty of ancient Hebrew copies. And I’ll check the BoM translation accuracy from reformed Egyptian—oh, that’s right, there’s no such thing as reformed Egyptian.
English

@70x7again @Sunburnz1 @FifthS60815 I guess the multiple translations and variations of the Bible didn't "correct" a single thing from its Hebrew beginning.
English

@Sunburnz1 @FifthS60815 @ldsfilmguy When was it the most correct book? When it was claimed to be the most correct book prior to the corrections? Or is it the most correct book after the corrections? Either way, it’s a lie.
English

@70x7again @FifthS60815 @ldsfilmguy Joseph wasn't the printer himself, I learned about a new mistake today in the book of Mormon. It is still the most correct book, that will lead you to God by testing the principals in it.

English

@FifthS60815 @ldsfilmguy There’s no way you can explain away the thousands of corrected mistakes in the book of Mormon considering the method used to ensure accuracy.
Words would appear and would not disappear until they were written down correctly. So either your god is a fool, or your book is a hoax.
English

@70x7again @ldsfilmguy And one of the fastest growing religions in the world. 17 million and growing. Read the Book of Mormon. The book is a miracle.

@ChristinaD7166 @BreeSolstad So u can sin now with clean conscience?
English

@jaredadairbell You’ve already accepted, not just the lesser, but the but the counterfeit.
English

@kateiswell This is a textbook strawman fallacy. Set up a position that has not been proposed and then argue against it.
It makes you look either uninformed or dishonest.

If Galatians 1:8 bans new revelation, Paul broke his own rule every time he wrote another epistle.

@spencerg83 This is a pretty simple but comprehensive explanation of what the Bible teaches about salvation. Please watch it. At least understand it before you reject it.

@70x7again You aren't engaging in good-faith discussion. You've done this several times.
I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's New Testament church, enjoying the same privilege of revelation the Apostles enjoyed, as well as an open canon of scripture.
English

Jesus Christ, who is perfect, got baptized as an example.
It is required for salvation.

GodlyAction@GodlyAction
Baptism is not required for salvation.
English

@lafe_the_harris @RandomLDS But grace is like the number zero. Anything you add to it makes it no longer zero. Grace is unmerited favor. As soon as you think you've earned it, it disappears. It becomes a paycheck. And your good works are not sufficient to pay for your salvation. It's a debt you cannot pay.
English

@RandomLDS Joseph Smith
“The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things ... are only appendages to it.”
English

@spencerg83 You want to argue the validity of Mormon theology when the origin/source is a complete fraud. You think your "testimony" overrides reality.
English

@spencerg83 You're the one ignoring the facts.
The Book of Abraham has no relation to the papyri we have which is common funerary text "book of breathing". 0 to do with Abraham. Neither the rules nor the translations in the grammar book correspond to those recognized by Egyptologists today.
