I’m deeply grateful to everyone who showed up at the SD61 Convention in Washburn. Together, we’ve proven time and again that when we fight for each other, we win. Let’s keep building a Minnesota where everyone can afford their life.

I’m running for re-election to keep Minnesota fair — where the rule of law wins over power and privilege. At the Carver County Convention at Waconia Middle School today, the energy in the room made it clear: we’re in this fight together.

The new largest data center in Illinois has been approved by the Joliet City Council. It will be the size of Central Park. And use more than half as much electricity as the entire city of Chicago.

>> AI is taking the jobs you just learned more skills for. You mean like when my job was threatened by off-shoring? I adapted... learned even more new skills and took on OMG more responsibility for our applications. As I said before... I was rewarded with good raises every single year, stock options and promotions. AND YOUR PROBLEM IS? >> People are getting robbed but your insensitive nature is not worth debating because you can't empathize. I see you are not getting all the endless free stuff you are obviously entitled to. When they start calling you selfish and greedy, it means that you have something they want to steal. _____________ A demand for un-given empathy is a demand for the unearned. - George Kerber - 11/19/2020 -

“My paycheck goes straight to rent — and there’s nothing left.” Ten years of higher education. A “good” job. No splurges. No safety net. Still dead broke after rent. “I paid rent this morning. I have $47 left. This is what ‘doing everything right’ gets you.”

>> Incomes haven't. What are YOU doing to increase your skills to earn more? When I wanted to earn more I did the work to teach myself an in-demand skill at home in the evenings from books after my day job. Was it easy? No. Was it hard to break into the field without a degree? Yes But it works with perseverance... once in the few field I was rewarded with good raises every single year, stock options and promotions. I retired at 54. (no silver spoon and no college degree)

A woman on TikTok reported when she asked for a raise, it was delayed and ignored, while her male colleagues got theirs quickly. Also, Women are ignored in meetings and talked over, only for their ideas to be praised when a man repeats them. Leave requests are questioned repeatedly, while men take time off without any challenge & get praise for “work life balance” Women are often mistaken for assistants, have their expertise doubted until a man confirms it, & are told to “smile more” in professional settings. A woman’s Performance review focus on tone instead of results, and not laughing at disrespectful jokes can label a woman “difficult”……misogyny is EVERYWHERE

Apparently there’s workplace misogyny?

@Nithya_Shrii We had a young man in our dept who was supposed to be at work at 7, NEVER showed up before 9, and then spent the day goofing off, didn't start working until 2 in the PM. When this was brought to our supervisor's attention, she said "He's a millennial, that's what they're like."

Favoritism isn’t loyalty to excellence — it’s loyalty to compliance. The “untouchables” aren’t protected because they’re great at their jobs. They’re protected because they’re great at saying yes, keeping quiet, and looking the other way. That’s why integrity gets punished. That’s why accountability feels like rebellion. That’s why speaking up suddenly becomes a “performance issue.” When silence is rewarded and ethics are inconvenient, the problem isn’t the staff — it’s the culture. And you’re right: that’s not a workplace. That’s a red flag with a payroll system. 🚩

LET'S TALK ABOUT "FAVORITISM" IN THE WORKPLACE You ever notice how some employees are untouchable? No matter what they do late reports, toxic attitude, even questionable practices the company still keeps them. Why? Because they're the ones who say yes to everything, even if it means doing things that aren't exactly legal or ethical. They're favored not because they're the best but because they're the most convenient. Meanwhile, the ones who follow rules, raise concerns, or ask for fairness? They're the ones who get micromanaged or worse, pushed out. It's not about performance anymore. It's about who's willing to stay silent and who's willing to play dirty. And if that's the culture? It's not a workplace. It's a warning sign.

@callar18 @TraditionSarah Not slow it was an employer being obtuse so I find humor in it. But keep reading into it though and maybe don't keep working for a stupid employer if it's just a cold.
