The problem is that people have very high expectations of their politicians. In the real world, politics is a binary choice between two options. You never get the idealized option you want. You either vote for BJP or you vote for Congress. BJP has many faults but it's overall a pro-India party. Personally I strongly disagree with the fact that they force poor children to eat vegetarian foods. Congress (at least the present version) on the other hand seems to an overall anti-India party (repeating pro-Pakistani viewpoints, trying to divide the country over caste/language/etc.). Again, there are some places I agree with the Congress as well. The problem is that the best of both worlds does not exist. Since it's a binary option, you are doomed to pick the lesser evil, and then be disappointed that it does not mean the ideals.
