My facebook post on 8/3/24 Today is the day of historic surrender by associations before DFS / IBA In a Five star hotel in Mumbai .And a day they have accepted to surrender .Today is international women's day and in our culture women are a form of Shakti . Today 9 th joint note is being signed one year earlier than the previous joint notes and without even notice of strike and this is being touted as a major achievement but at what cost . not a single major demand of charter of demand has been accepted by team DFS / IBA . 1 Total increase of 17 pc over march 22 pay slip is reasonable but much below our expectations in view of current record profitability of PSB . 2 in COD we demanded basic salary at par with RBI / LiC and central government.reality our new basic will be 40 pc less than RBI / LIC / central government .with pathetic 3 pc loading in existing basic . DFS / IBA won 3 COD demanded merger of special allowance with basic reality around 1100 basis point increase in special allowance. IBA / DFS won 4 COD demanded OPS for all reality no serious discussion on this issue . DFS / IBA won . 5 5 days of work banking MOU signed on 7/12/23 said union / association demanded implementation of 5 days work banking before signing of BPS / Joint note . Reality they are signing it day without implementing 5 days of work banking. And now we are on mercy of government of India regarding date when 5 days of work banking will be implemented . 6 defined working hours Do discussion/ progress at all . 7 pension updation COD demanded pension updation. In reality we are getting ex gratia of paltry few thousands to 7.5 lakh pensioners around 20 pc of them retired prior to nov 2007 getting crums as pensions. In my 39 years of my banking life this is the first time apex level associations have surrendered before DFS / IBA without even putting a semblance of fight .total surrender. These spineless apex level association representatives have made bankers Life miserable with no relief in sight .
