@lastchalice I'll say it a thousand times over, DOOM 3 as its original version fucking rocks. BFG Edition stripped it of everything interesting by making the flashlight always accessible and increasing the ammo inventory capacity

You know a series is incredible when the black sheep of the franchise is this good.
- Impeccable art/character design
- Graphical fidelity that still impresses
- Dark survival horror spin on DOOM
- Exclusive to Xbox/PC for a generation
- Last DOOM with John Carmack
This game terrified me as a kid. I first bought it for PC, but it was too intense for my computer to handle. Went back and got the steel book OG Xbox version that came with ports of the first two games and never looked back.

One thing about DOOM: The Dark Ages that's subtle until you think about it... The music is a big downgrade without Mick Gordon. When we think about transmedia it's usually TV / movies ... for DOOM it was music. Gordon's OSTs have millions of plays on streaming services.
