It’s not far out of the equation for the frontline to have fallen a bit further.

@Real_Priception I agree Halo 2 was designed and tested on both displays. But vidoc footage from Halo CE development shows only the usage of CRT displays. As I said before, It was designed around the technology of the time. LCDs were wider spread around halo 2 though CRTs were still more common.

@75mm_pak40 You are making a lot of assumptions there with "Halo were designed CRT" as Bungie never said this and if u watch the Halo Viddoc they use LCDs and CRTs screens for development and testing. Also Halo is about readability, and LCDs offer a much clearer picture than CRTs

Been playing through both Halo CE and Halo 2 on my CRT and OG Xbox. I still can’t believe how good these games look on it compared to Hi Resolution LCD screens

@Real_Priception Of course there is also personal preference. If you enjoy the look of older games on an LCD that’s perfectly fine. Usually with these games though that wasn’t what it was intended to be seen through. And it shows in certain sections

@Real_Priception In certain use cases it will look better than an LCD. Games like Halo were designed around the hardware of the time (CRT), Will the image quality look better than an LCD? Not at all, but LCDs make the game look washed out and the high resolution picks out issues usually not seen.
