@Pirat_Nation "over the next few years" what?? there must be some kind of mistake here, I've seen you declare the obit and making the funeral to this game at least 10x....don't you feel really stupid? or there's no more shame at all because the milk is already done?

Bungie has revealed a “multi-year narrative plan” for Marathon. Creative director Julia Nardin explained that the team has the overall story direction mapped out but will keep it flexible to incorporate player feedback She stated, “We know where we want to take the story over the next few years, but I don’t want to say it’s completely ‘locked in’ because it’s important to us that our players be able to help shape it.” The backstory of what happened to Tau Ceti is “locked,” with more clues to be revealed over time as the story evolves. “It’s also important that players can jump into Marathon at any time. They’ll always be able to uncover the mysteries of Tau Ceti’s past while experiencing its present. We want every season to be a new entry point, and for new players to be able to understand what’s going on regardless of how long we’ve all been running.”

Just from the top of my head I remember Val temple where you have to go get "the same orbs" to open the Boss...and there's a lot more like that. Again, to me, POE 2 is on its way to be one of the best games ever made and already is the best ARPG, but the people either because they hate blizzard, or because they are coping with POE or because what ever reason is to unfair with Diablo, and when people try to defend something bad in a game (in this case poe campaign), all they gonna get is a bad campaign. You guys remember POE 2 campaign was so boring they had to had to change maps layouts and add TP's?

@BigGameBrent @77R4PTOR Basically this is what I meant. PoE2 does not have design like this in campaign. It keeps moving. That’s why I am playing through it over and over, not with this D4 one.

Finally rolled credits on the Diablo 4 expansion. Some quick thoughts as a Path of Exile 2 player: - Good story, enjoyed it a bunch - Much better boss fights than core + VOH, Mephisto and Inarius were faves - Paladin skills are cool, I like the leap - Combat still does not hook me, feels janky - Not a fan of the open world - I miss pause + saving where I am like in PoE 2, I had to redo a bunch of quests due to my lovely family ;) - Wardrobe system is peak, GGG please take notes from Blizzard - Environments are fascinating but you kinda zoom through them on your horse - I see why D4 has campaign skip, I cannot see really wanting to play that campaign again even though I liked the story, too many unskippable dialogue/travel sequences Now, onward to the endgame and War Plans...100% blind. This should be interesting.

@tacticalgh0st If there's something POE cant compete with diablo is the campaign, like they're not even on the same league.

People complaining about D4 no good still. Do you realize you’re doing the same thing in POE? Running maps endlessly for what? Do the uber boss and still keep running maps? They say POE campaign is better. Yea keep running it on every single character then. 😂 No one even listens to PoE campaign whatsoever.

@NeverSinkDev The campaign is top, compared with POE its not even in the same league, the skill tree is absolute trash, its made for people with 1 brain cell...they removed so much stuff...its not even a skill tree anymore, its compared to basic gems on skills on poe.

DIABLO 4 LOH - FINISHED CAMPAIGN (WARLOCK) FIRST IMPRESSIONS / CAMPAIGN RATING: This does NOT include the endgame, I'll make another post about it over the next days. Let me rip the band-aid right off. It's not great. THE GOOD - 20% OF THE CAMPAIGN Good cutscenes. Good dialogues, some plot twists. It felt like 'old blizzard'. Interesting returning characters. Most bossfights are pretty solid! I was very entertained during those parts! THE GOOD - TALISMANS It's a breath of fresh air for D4. It's not very complex and mostly serves as a stat stick, but I enjoyed engaging with it! THE GOOD - THE NEW TOWN Compact, with all important NPCs nearby. A great hub for the endgame later on. THE GOOD - WARLOCK SPECIALIZATIONS The 4 soulshard-demons you can bind are fun and flavorful! Each of them feels very distinct and imo they're by far the best bit of the whole class! THE MEH - WARLOCK RESOURCE Warlock uses the Demon Hunter D3 dual resource system... except it's worse in every way. You use one resource exclusively for 'Archfiends', essentially making it a nuke on a cooldown. The other one you'll likely be able to sustain near non-stop soon - making it a gear check.. THE MEH - WARLOCK 'ARCHETYPES It's an illusion of choice. Most archetypes corner you into a couple of skills/subskills and everything else just doesn't make sense. For instance, if you want to go Abyss/Shadowform, you basically are stuck with ~5-10 skills/subskills that make sense. Everything else just doesn't fit. May change in the endgame maybe. THE MEH - NEW ZONE Not memorable. Not terrible. THE BAD - TECHNICAL ISSUES 5+ crashes. I had to redo a lot of quests and areas. Dialogues and volume are a mess. NPC dialogues would frequently get completely cut out in the middle, during combat midsentence most of the time. THE BAD - THE 80% FILLER IN THE CAMPAIGN It's the WORST kind of filler. Slaying random mobs until something happens. Riding through zones of idle enemies, often very monotonous dialogues. WAITING - sometimes you wait for 5-20 seconds for the NPCs to get to the next 'phase'. I was actively yawning. The game would've been much better if they'd left the 20% good campaign bits and you'd simply have to fight through areas oldschool like in D2. THE BAD - SKILL TREEE ALL passives are gone. Yes, you get 3 major-subtypes of every skill now, instead of two, but was this trade worth it? For me personally: no. Absolutely not. I suspect this makes balancing the game a lot easier. It's also very boring. THE BAD - (SOME) VISUALS I dislike the look of many warlock skills. They look somewhat goofy. The demon-eye turret and 'Rampage' look like they escaped D3. Ironically I loved the D2R warlock visuals and it's sad to see them be so poor here. Graphically some 'new' enemies are D3 enemies repolished and feel a bit out of place. OVERALL RATING (UNTIL CAMPAIGN END) 5/10. Talismans are great. The campaign is 20% great and 80% terrible. Warlock is OK The new skilltree has no passives. The new zone is entirely forgettable. I'd like to note again that the endgame may be a lot better. I actually expect it to be a lot better. Did you play the new campaign? What is your impression? Do you agree with my POV?
