I was just talking about the TV series Hill Street Blues which my wife has never seen. I was explaining the characters and she asked me what city it was it based in and I suddenly realised I have no idea. New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston ???

@TurkTalksFC I've watched this film every year on this day for the last 10 years and parts of it have me sobbing every time. So poignant.

David Tennant’s performance of Jimmy Murphy in United (2011) is spectacular. This scene before the 1958 FA Cup final - just three months after the Munich Air Disaster - never fails to break me. Couldn’t recommend this film enough, on today of all days.

@AuthorGFAllen Yes - I only recently discovered that not everyone did. I often refuse to watch a tv/film dramatisation because it will change the characters and locations in my head from reading the book

15 January 1981. 1st episode of the police drama series Hill Street Blues was broadcast on US-NBC TV. It focused on a police station on Hill Street in an unnamed US city. There were 7 series, with 146 episodes until 12 May 1987.
