Lithuanian composer and conductor Mindaugas Piečaitis led an orchestra performing a piece inspired by Nora the cat, who famously “plays” the piano. The unusual performance was met with enthusiastic applause and a standing ovation.

@VittelMax Why are Etruscans almost indistinguishable from Latins genetically then

This is how Etruscans were born btw. Cromagnid pre-Aryan short aristocrats of the type of La Rochefoucault —who stemmed from a 5000yo pre-Aryan aristocratic bloodline— acquired WHG girls to produce a race capable of fighting Aryan invasion

Still think we need an enormous, I mean ridiculously insane battleship, biggest guns ever built by any navy ever, just to serve as our flagship and as a crazy flex because we are the premier naval power in world history. What should we name it

@zajako_ That list is complete bullshit. They aren't even related in the Kentum and Satem split. Greek and Armenian are Kentum I believe and Albanian is more closely related to satem. Linguistically speaking they should come from different groups of IE populations

The Buton tribe, located in a remote area of Sulawesi, Indonesia, has a rare genetic condition that causes some of its members to have electric-blue eyes.

I've been raising my infant daughter for nearly a year and yes yes I do see the appeal of Bronze Age Pervert's idea that instead babies should be raised by servants paid for by generous "fertility bounties" that reward pregnancies from a sex club in Bali.

"Just mute them!" Not the point. I shouldn't have to partially block an account just to get the algorithm to not recommend me their awful content.

The twitter algorithm has never been worse. Sometimes, I will click "do not show me this tweet / show fewer posts from this account" on the same account in my "For You" tab half a dozen times in a single day. I still see them.

If you had stronger core muscles and greater skill in singing, piano, poetry and mathematics then people would more easily overlook your cold personality and the way you struggle with the simplest parts of daily life.

@Maptysk As we continue to refine models of linguistic influence via aDNA, it will become apparent that the strict categories of "I.E." vs "non I.E." are essentially useless labels.

This is extremely interesting although unsure what to think of it. At the very least, it shows that Thracian has a huge pre-IE substrate, which would line up with Thracians being almost exclusively E-V13, a non-IE Farmer Haplogroup that likely entered and established itself as a distinct cultural group around 2000bc.
J Pystynen ✽🫐 🗒☕⌘🚯🧦ᴤ@JLingPystynen

Intriguing new proposal from Kassian: Thracian (as far as it is attested at all) is Paleoeuropean, not IE academia.edu/165922216/Why_…

Upper left is Wells College, Aurora, NY - on Cayuga Lake. We accepted about 60 of their students (probably 40 still here) - we're on Seneca, the next Finger Lake over to the west. All very sad. There's an offer in for campus from a Native American group, the Hiawatha Institute.
Mike Bird@Birdyword

Crazy to me that we have a relative glut of small, often quite pretty college campuses for sale at the same time as we have a glut of billionaire eccentrics with their own unusual ideologies and communities, and we can't somehow make these things work together
